Her facial animations are truly magnificent. To the untrained eye she looks just like a real person, it's amazing how much the perspective can change thanks to high quality emotion capture techniques. I wonder if they are using facial caption during mo-cap and audio capture. I ask this because, I remember reading or seeing something about Resident Evil 5, and how they could not capture both things at the same time.

Yes, they're using facial caption. I think it's been said either in Q&A session, or some magazine.

I can hardly contain my excitement, I am so happy that finally Tomb Raider will get the treatment it deserves. Tomb Raider will finally be taken seriously. This reboot is the best thing that has ever happened to Tomb Raider :D.

^ I know! D: It's so exciting! I'm so proud of myself I survived a whole year and now we'll get what we deserve! We're so close...I'm not sure how I'm going to handle the excitement around E3. I still remember how I was literally shaking when Daniel and Darrell appeared on the stage, I couldn't believe I'm about to see the game in motion, and now we'll see even more and it's gonna be polished and we're not far from its release. My life is complete D:

Well back off-topic, Lara's ass is better and the animations aren't really final and besides she is not strutting her way to seduce anyone. Either way Lara has one of the best female faces in gaming imo :cln:.She truly shines! :cln:

I do not think that the characters in Mass Effect are more detailed , sure they have better developed personalities than pre-reboot Lara but that about it :).

FemShep in ME2 looked more realistic than Lara, tbh, and that game is from 2010. Lara should look far more realistic in this day and age of technology, beta screens or not.

We haven't seen beta screens yet, so we'll have to wait and see. I did google and I've seen Uncharted and I have to agree the models do look impressive.

Are you kidding me? That was only one block of plastic. Atleast legend and anni had some makeup on, but Trunderworld Lara, jesus that was a disaster.

Detail doesn't have to come from texture nor does it have to be ultra-realistic. Hence how TRU Lara was the most detailed video game character, due to polycount.

It seems to me that this Lara (her face at least) is very smooth, she must have crap-tons of polygons but I bet they're more evenly dispersed then the Underworld model.

Plus this Lara is totally grunged up so her texture seem more detailed and realistic. Though her skin (without the mud and crud) still seems flat in some ways.

I remember the early TRU screens, either due to the lghting or texturing you could see amazing details on Lara's body...

Like the neck and arm muscle and bone details...

But they have said things to the effect that the long gap doesn't mean there is something wrong with the game, in fact it's all part of their plan.

Also, I think they've said before they won't be delaying TR to evade higher grossing or more popular titles.
