Except that Tomb Raider is actually a 'game' and Beyond (?) is more like... an interactive movie. The developers also have the luxury of being able to take full advantage of just one platform.

So you don't think CD are doing their best to do just that? I don't know what that game is, but if it's only on one platform, doesn't that go some way to making the graphics more realistic?

I have played Heavy Rain :pi: It's very good graphically but it's not THAT. And it renders in 720p.

The new TR game seems to look awesome IMO, better than Uncharted, Assasin's creed and many other games. Imagine how the game will look after release :eek: it will no doubt look great. CD is known for having good looking games, It isn't necessary to have the next gen to have an actual good TR game IMO just because a game has superb graphics it means is overall the best game ever. Next Gen also will be a curse to many starting with me, since only the wealthy and rich will get it once it's ''Finally (?)'' Released. The current consoles still have a lot of power to deliver lovely and outstanding graphics and TR will use most of the power this consoles can deliver. ;)

The real question for Tomb Raider isn't if it looks better than Uncharted, but...looks better than The Last Of Us?
I don't think so, even TR looks amazing, The Last of Us is just breathtaking, not only on graphics, but those movements, OMG.

^Most often exclusives are better looking than the other games of their genre. Quantic Dream, Sony Santa Monica and specially Naughty Dog are well known for taking advantage of this with their powerful engines (All PS3 Exclusive companies). The Xbox 360 on the other hand has some beautiful exclusives as well. Since the last of us is from Naughty Dog i wouldn't be surprised :)

The island in Far Cry 3 is huge and have various elements. This video now makes me think if TR will have that many types of animals and other stuffs!!

CD hypes everything up. I think they (read: Karl) should just shut up and let the game speak for itself. If they actually have to make so much noise, its quite obvious that the game is not half as good as they claim. Plus, if they're going to reveal anything, better to make it small tidbits once in a while, than explode, shut up, and explode again.

Imo, they only want sales. They don't care about the franchise. Which is a shame cause this franchise was different from the others and the only thing they are doing is just making it a generic, mainstream one that blends with everything.

First of all, every company hypes up their new products. It's marketing, and I'm not even a marketing major. It's common sense. Do you really think CD is not going to promote the game at all? And of course they only want sales! That's the only thing companies want. Without sales they wouldn't be able to stay in business. I just think it's hilarious how you view CD practicing common business techniques as a gross, evil thing!

Well we shall see in the end if the game lives up to the hype. I am hopeful but I am also cautious after CD's previous efforts. However it is a new team behind this one and they made Guardian of the Light which was the closest we got to he classic Lara and gameplay from them but still fresh so hopefully this one will be a winner. :)

I'd just like everyone to know that the game's environments are so pretty at night...

I love the trees in this area and I hope we get to see a beautiful place during the day (aside from this spot) with the pink trees.

That entrance looked so much more interesting and mysterious on the concept art. I was like, "I wonder what you do there! Where could that lead?! A tomb?!" But you don't end up doing anything too special or there isn't a hard or complex puzzle to solve. You just turn the wheel and all that's behind it is some stairs. :/

Does anyone remember where the video of cutscene with Whitman is without Karl talking, so I cna hear Lara and Whitman?

I don't know. I remember watching the cutscene and being able to hear them both talking, and them talking while they walked up the mountain.
