^ No hard feelings. Here's a piece of advice, though - never make assumptions about someone on a forum. You'd be surprised how different a person can be in real life.

Yeah, I see where you're coming from, but one month is still pretty close. Releasing a video or something now wouldn't do much harm. Then they can start showing more two or so weeks before the release.

Releasing everything 2 days before release, like SpyrosMonster said, sounds very unrealistic and not very smart. I doubt any developer would market a game like that.

LNSNHGTDS 05-02-13 20:02

Regarding the Final Hours and Last of Us episodes someone had suggested that maybe they are planning on releasing some stuff after the game's release, so this could be the case aswell, but that tweet was downright tease-y so we're propably getting something today.

Didn't mean EXACTLY 2 days before the release... I mean they could release everything the last week before the game's release...

We're expecting one Final Hours and two Guide to Survival right? Maybe Final Hours and the last Guide to Survival get released last week and the previous Guide to Survival gets released sometime... soon :p .

The opposite actually...

2 Final Hours... That's what was said in the end of the last episode
and I don't know how many Guide to Survival but at least 1 because they said what the next episode is going to be about.

I think that someone mentioned that in the Guide to Survival it was mentioned that the game has three main aspects (which I don't remember right now) and since the first one was "explained" in the first episode there would propably be one for each of the following two aspects so maybe we're expecting two and two?

Has it been confirmed there will be rope in this game to get to unreachable areas?? If not this article sais it does. Its new and seems postive by the phrase "It's a heroine video game players will hopefully see more often"

Does that mean that the rope is the new grapple? Cool, peronally I always felt that the idea of a 40-year-old woman hanging from a thin wire was a little stupid :vlol: , cool, but stupid!

You know the rope arrow she fires to pull the hut down in the Survivor trailer, she can use that like the grapple.

40 year old? You talkin bout Lara?? I dooon't think she was 40 in Legend and Underworld. I just remembered we have gameplay of her using the rope

She was 38 in Legend, 40 in Underworld and 41 (maybe? ) in Guardian of Light so and to be honest she kinda looked like that in Underworld, she was flawless but her face looked a lot more mature than in Anniversary, for example (can't really compare with the Classics because graphics but you can understand what I mean) .

Lara is 24 in Legend according to the Gameboy Advance version. Where did you get 38 from? :p

24, that's impossible, she was 28 in Tomb Raider/Anniversary.

The way I see it, the games take place on present-day unless if they say they do not.

Tomb Raider, Anniversary - 1996
Tomb Raider II - 1997
Adventure of Lara Croft - 1998
Last Revelation, Chronicles, Angel of Darkness - 1999
Legend - 2006
Underworld - 2008
Guardian of Light - 2008 (?) (if you were to set it somewhere in the Tomb Raider timeline it's some time after Underworld, judging by her appearance)

So, she is 28 in Tomb Raider and Anni. , 29 in TRII, 30 in TRIII, 31 in Core's TRilogy, 38 in Legend and 40 in Underworld.

If you think of it it's quite plausible. The only model that doesn't look her age is Legend Lara.

Lara never ages. I never want to see her grow old. But in Underworld they tried to push the realism by giving her lines on her forhead which is a good touch nut not a good look. For Lara that is.

Yes it has been confirmed, not only are there already rope lines to use as makeshift zip lines, but you can make them using the bow, I believe. Plus you can use rope in a similar way with the bow to pull things down. Thanks for posting the article btw :).

I don't think it'll be used in quite the same way as the grapple, but it will be helpful in getting around (Think AoD style shimmying across wires). And what is so stupid about a 38/40 year old woman using a grapple? Not only are grapples strong, but you're forgetting (or ignoring) the simple fact that LAU Lara was a very strong, fit and athletic woman, possibly more so than an untrained younger woman. Someone like me would probably fall to my death, but Lara had skills.

Yes I think that this is a more plausible theory of how we're gonna use the rope.

Exactly because Lara is strong and fit and she is all muscled-up as seen in her Underworld wetsuit she should be a bit too heavy to hang from a wire that attaches to metals with a tiny magnet (in Legend) or a hook from anceint rings (in Anni and Underworld) . Not to mention that she's not in her late 20s anymore, she shouldn't do stuff like that, it's embarassing :p joking !

Well, the problem with your theory is that you're connecting Core's Lara with CD's Lara. Two very different people. CD had Lara's her backstory completely re-written, so trying to connect that Lara with Core's Lara is non-sensical.

The way I see it is, Lara is 24 in Legend, which is set in 2006. But what's weird is that TRA is set in 1996, and obviously Lara is obviously not 14 in that game. Sooooo... Logic would leave one to believe that Lara is 20-something (probably 24 too since she looks exactly the same as in Legend), and that Lara Croft doesn't age after TRA, because... Wait for it... She's not a real human being and is in fact a video game character. Oh, and yes, Lara may look 40 in TRU, but I doubt Lara would wait 20 years after Legend to continue looking for her mother. I think she just looks older because CD redesigned her face for next-gen.

But that's just my theory. Thinking a lot about a video game character's age could be considred futile.

Thank goodness you're joking as I'd have given you one of these: :smk:. 40 is hardly ancient, you know, a trained athlete like Lara can do those things no probs! I don't think her weight would be a problem, part of the appeal to Lara was that, while obviously strong, she never looked overly muscly, she managed to remain quite swelte, her figure was quite deceiving. And exactly! :p

I bloody love this music! Thanks for posting FE :tmb:.

Crystal didn't erase Core's games, they just changed some parts of her biography and backstory and her motivation to become a Tomb Raider. Think of it as a parallel universe.

Legend being set in the same year as Anniversary could work if Lara didn't have all that hi-tech gadgets which propably didn't exist in the 90s (or at least weren't that advanced) and Lara's PDA in Underworld is almost identical to a smartphone, which didn't appear until late 2000 so it fails to make a connection and like you said Lara wouldn't have waited 20 years to begin the search for Avalon.

Like I said, we are video game fans, personally I can't stand not knowing as many details as possible about a character (whether this is a video game character, a TV show character or a book character) , I feel the need to do my research on them so that I am familiar with their goals and personal info and stuff, it just adds up to the overal enjoyment :) .

Nah, just kidding, women in their late thirties fourties look nice, and like we say in Greece, one fourty-year-old woman equal two twenty-year-old ones :p .

I guess you're right, she never looked that musuclar, actually, the only time I've seen her have a muscular figure was in Underworld's wetsuit (her abs just dissapeared in her other outfits by the way  ) so she should propably be nimble enough so as not to fall :p .

There's the grenade launcher (or something that looks like one) that's been shown in multiplayer. I don't actually know if you can use it in single player, though.

Yeah, it's definitely not a typical grenade launcher that you would see today, but most of the weapons from the island are from years ago, during World War II, so that explains why they look like that. :p

If you can use the grenade launcher in single player, we might be able to upgrade it so it will look like more a modern grenade launcher. I know that's what happens with the pistol - first it starts of as that old, brown looking one but after you upgrade it, it resembles more of the pistols in TRL. You can see it in the first Guide to Survival episode.

I think it's really cool what CD did with the uprading system. The weapons stats don't just increase, but their looks change too. I can't wait to get all my weapons upgraded. :D
