i really like it !! :tmb:

I like it, but, sounds like a radio. I'm making a fan soundtrack of the new Tomb Raider with this theme. :D |
I have the feeling they will use the same engine all over again, so at this time they should be ****ing experts. No need to re-learn everything tough some major changes have been done. Not sure about being interested on another CD game except TR.
I think they will need to work with the next gen consoles. CD did a lot to make TR "relevant" again, and making the next game on expired gen tech would loose that momentum as well as credibility as a TR comeback. SE has said as much as they can't wait 4-5 yrs for AAA releases, but not sure another TR will be coming out in a year. |

SE has said as much as they can't wait 4-5 yrs for AAA releases, but not sure another TR will be coming out in a year.
A new TR game can easily come out in a year. The original TR2 came out a year after the original TR1 and the team was considerably smaller, yet they managed to make an outstanding sequel. CD can do it, if they don't do it it is bc they do not want to. Hopefully they will release a TR2 next year. /Wishful thinking |
Times were completely different back then and games development did not require nearly as many human resources as today. Average team size for an AAA title is at least 10 times bigger as compared to how it was back in the late 90s. Saying a sequel could "easily" come out in a year is a stretch. We might be very well getting some information about it next year, maybe even as early as in a few months from now (announcement, confirmation, etc.) but I think the earliest the game could be actually released is next year's holiday season. As in Christmas holiday season.
|
I doubt it. People like to say how soon it's possible to get, but you might as well wait at least 3 years. I never wait for Tomb Raider games.
|
Personally I hope they're given enough time to make something decent. Not everyone can pull off what Ubisoft is doing... heh. And they have multiple teams working on their AC games so that they can come out as frequently as they do.
I want Crystal to continue to improve upon their current formula while still being captivating for their target audience. I'm afraid that if they try and push out another game so soon, that wont be the case. Maybe I'm wrong but, generally speaking a good game takes at least what, 2-3 years? |
^The sequel has been in pre development for a while so it does not need to come out in 2 or 3 years...

The only reason I'm still here is for the hope that Reflections was already in the works, but that could be a year off too. |
BTW Motoleo, there has not been a confirmation on LC Reflections so perhaps it got scrapped or the second game will be called Tomb Raider 2: Reflections. Hopefully the second one is what it is.
|
I hope it's not called Tomb Raider 2. That's too basic.

Nope, if it's a Tomb Raider game, then it would be called Tomb Raider : Lara Croft Reflections :D But i don't think so. |
Since there is thinking out of the box in AAA game development going on at SE, there is no real telling what we can expect from the next TR game. However, FF is coming out for next gen, so there is no way that TR is going to be made for the old systems.
I think a new game could be done for Xmas 2014 if all of the expensive interactive cinematics is cut back on. Less money spent on the game, game released sooner, more gamer immersion. Win-win for all. In my mind, "Reflections" sound more like TR5 format revisited. However, that would not make any sense since CD is determined to bury everything about past TRs and reinvent the franchise. |
we already know what reflections is though...
|
What Reflections is?
we already know what reflections is though...
you are such a troll :p |
you should've done your research

If it gets released later then who can tell.... either way i find it selfish and rude for them to neglect current gen owners by releasing a next gen only game. Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Reflections
:p |
I hope they don't bring back the "Lara Croft" part of the title. ._.
Are we all sure LC:F is a game? No it totally is, I forgot, there's a website. It must be. Hmmm. Hm hm hm... |
I'd like to hear you talk in real life.
The theory that I'm going with, that I personally believe is the trademark registered with almost identical terms to how the Guardian of Light was described. There's no doubt in my mind that it's a game. |

The game is totes a game, and a sequel to GOL even if the plots are (hopefully) not connected. I believe your theory. In fact, now that CD have goobered in some more Lara fans, there will perhaps be more of an audience for LC:Reflections. UH. Now I can't wait. It's going to be fantasy, magical, tombs, creatures, monsters, a cool little Lara Croft, an interesting historical companion (maybe). I need to know. I must understand. |

Thousands of posts consisting of rambling nonsense, then you go and say something that actually makes sense. What's the catch? :pi: |

I simply adored Guardian of Light, it was HELL FUN, it had lot of puzzles (excelent puzzles), non-stoping action, lots of tombs, temples... that IS what Tomb Raider is about. Pure adventure. No wonder it is the highest rated game in the franchise from Crystal Dynamics along with this new TR. |
I really hope they won't bring Totec back, his character was TERRIBLE.
So poorly written & the whole idea was poorly realized. |

That's like saying the original Super Mario Bros was "poorly written & the whole idea was poorly realized" because we didn't know if Mario came from a broken home or something. |
did the world change and left me to be the last one on the list to find out because of the pride inside of me?

I really hope Reflections isn't some touchscreen game for the smartphones. :p

haha yeah this exactly. Which is why I never understood why reviews always marked down GoL for the story. I mean, seriously, who cares about the story? It's an arcade game. The gameplay is where it's at. :p |
Hopefully the gameplay is where it's at in TR10.
Though I think an arcade game can have an amazing story. I think the simpler, the shorter and the quicker the story is, the easier you can just plop in a good moral and create an effective story. As opposed to dragging a narrative across a long, rollercoaster campaign. edit: In fact it would be amazing, if they simply interrupt gameplay a mere 4 or 5 times with a truly breathtaking and climactic cutscene. |

What I mean is that if it does have a weak story, I don't see any reason for it to detract since the gameplay is meant to be the highlight of the game. And yeah I agree about the effective story things, and I also agree that there be less cutscene interruptions. I like it when you have to work for a breathtaking custcene, instead of being bombarded with one every 5 minutes. Make them count, not overdone. :) |

Ugh! Remeber when they made that legend puzzle game!? |

The puzzles were harder than any of the puzzles in TOMB RAIDER, at least. lol |

TR: Puzzle Paradox? I liked it :p |
We really need something new soon. It's almost as quiet around here as it is in the Eidos Forums or that year of no TR news. :(

Exactly my thoughts. |
As I said on the other thread, if Crystal will be tomorrow at E3, they won't be there to talk about what they did. Probably they will be showing something, hopefully TR related.
|
I actually prefer it quiet. Less people complaining and less people arselicking. If only people knew how to be objective. Ridiculous idea, right?!
But yeah, I suppose seeing a teeny, tiny teaser would be alright... |
