Are rather popular opinions and we know Crystal/EM have seen them. Do you think it痴 realistic to think we値l ever get remasters + remakes of the old TR games?

There is definitely a current trend for remakes like Crash or Sonic doing very well with them. I think it could be incredible to do the early games with modern graphics and controls.

There are two things that I think will deter CD/SE. This is the poor sales on Anniversary and danger of brand dilution (i.e. seeing classic Lara again may pull players away from reboot Lara). The timing on TRA I think was too early for the remake trend and they needed to wait longer for the graphics to uprate. If we had a spinoff team now say like if they commissioned Nicobass's TR2 version I think it would do very well. Maybe the TRA sales results will sadly mean they don't take the chance and have a go at a remaster/remake.

yes why not

Honestly I'm not sure, they sure have taken a stance against her past incarnations.

If they did do them though I'd be happy and I'd be down for it.

I'm all for that. I think Square Enix should try and greenlight a project like that, especially with the 25th Anniversary approaching.
Resident Evil 2, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Medieval... All those PS1 games resurrected gave me hopes for Tomb Raider.
Could have a more modest budget and team to work on for all I care.
Could be a good way to help us waiting a bit more the next main AAA game, and give a little more time to studios to product it.

Would they make tons of money on it? A resounding yes, imo. But will they do it? I'm not sure. CD doesn't seem that fond of the classics. I hope I get proven wrong though.

I agree, I would eat all my words if they went out of their way to do a faithful remaster like Crash and Medieval have gotten. Heck I wouldn't even mind a remaster in the same manor that RE2 was remade.

I'd never say anything bad about them again, but every opportunity they have, it's unfortunately never utilized to making the fans happy.

im actually not sure if tomb raider would have the same following as crash, spyro or resi. i always feel like tomb raider is treated so badly by the GP

i would love to get remasters and or remakes but with tomb raider im actually not sure if it would even sell enough

Not likely, they're not for the audience Reboot has.

If we did get a reboot , it'd probably be a snooze-fest like 2013 just dressed up to look like an older game.

TR1 but every atlantean is reskinned trinity.

I wouldn't trust CD to remake them faithfully, but a competent remaster, possibly outsourced to Bluepoint Games would be a sure fire win. Shenmue has abhorrent tank controls as well and that port succeeded.
