Exactly the same thing with me with my own card. I thought i'd just take a chance and it worked!

Whaaaaat, so there are people in the world who actually do care about the age rating of a game?! :yik:

Last time I checked, and it was January 19th, 2013, people did not care about your age when preordering a game :p

Thanks for the help.

Tomorrow I'll go to the store to ask more about the pack. I hope they won't be bothered with my age, because I'm only 17.5 years old.

Might depend more on WHERE you are...

Im not really sure how tough it is here in the US... at 29, I really havent had to worry about that stuff for a long time... and it really wasnt much of an issue when I was younger...

But I think its really hard for a 15 year old to walk into a gamestop in the US and but a Mature rated game...

I remember getting games like Mortal Kombat at the age of 10, by myself. No questions at all, neither from any shop owner nor my parents. But that was a long time ago, things sure have changed. :p

Exactly! As I send above, I got GTA SA when I was 11 years old and the guy that worked there didn't even bothered to talk to me...

Actually this. I'm surprised because nowadays most parents don't really care about RATINGS since a child can have an access into the internet, he/she can do or happen things much more serious than a game that contains blood and swearing.
I mean you hear people swearing EVERY SINGLE DAY on the TV, Movies, On the road etc...
It's kinda stupid that parents are being protective to the things that won't hurt anyone but they let you free to do other things that bad stuff can come out of them.

Moosey 17-02-13 19:37

:/ i was so excited for this game. Such an anti-climax

trfanX34 17-02-13 19:39

^ Try to convince them, tell them that age ratings are only a recommendation (at least in Europe) and not an actual prohibition, and that TR is a really good game that's about history and you learn stuff with it and blah blah blah :p

No one cares about your age when getting a game here, and I thought that was the case in the rest of the world. Age ratings only recommend a minimum age to play a game anyways, it's not illegal or prohibited to buy one without being old enough, just like movies.

Exactly. Not letting someone get a game because of the age rating is ridiculous imo.

To be completely honest, Im really not sure how it works...

I know the ratings are in place, but I dont know if its completely illegal here to sell a M17 rated game to a 15 year old, or if its at the discretion of the seller... in which case its a matter of gettin the right guy at the counter who doesnt care...

And Moosey lives in the UK, so the law might be different there...

Anyone know where these pictures actually come from? I know they're official but they're not on the official site or the blog as far as I know. Just asking purely out of curiousity. :p

Aren't those the DLC for the scavenger hunt? Maybe these will be called "explorer pack" when they will be available on PSN? Sorry, for not answering your question...haha. Just a thought. :ton:

Mikky 17-02-13 20:02

I have no idea where they're from or how you get them, tbh. I just know they're some kind of DLC. :p

If you get caught, and yur parents are pissed at you, you could always just say you took a chance, and went to the shop, and they sold it to you no questions asked... the people working there see 100 people a day, they wouldnt remember...

...what are the terms and conditions of this forum on instructing a minor how to circumvent age restrictions on games? LOL

But that's dishonest and if the parents are real sticklers for rules like they sound, they may want to chase it up with the store. When it transpires there's no receipt from the store, more lies are told to cover up the original lie. You're encouraging a minor to be deceitful. Good job there.

Best bet is to try and enlighten the folks why it's an 18 and why a 15 year old is mature enough to play it. Lying just perpetuates the reason why a 15 year old shouldn't be playing the game.

Yes, they're both DLC packs, although the latter has been renamed to Explorer bundle. I know this for sure because these DLCs come with the disc I'm planning to preorder.

LNSNHGTDS 17-02-13 20:18

@Moosey I think you should try asking them once more, if it doesn't work buy it anyway, lol :p .

Mikky 17-02-13 20:19

Hmmmm, then maybe these pictures come from retailer sites? It would be nice if you could find all these in one convenient place. :p

Age ratings.. hmm I believe it's only to determine the content of the game somehow and If it's suitable for your age.. I don't care if it's illegal or not as I'm doing much worse illegal things than that but I believe age ratings should be considered when someone purchases a game.. someone who lives under the mama daddy fake world of ponies and everything is good for example will be shocked, possibly a 12 year old kid or idk.
I'm 24, have seen pretty bad stuff in front of me and I believe that some games are helping us to develop a mature mind.

In my case TR turned me into an explorer/freerunner, a singleminded person away from alchol, clubbing and basically low life people of that kind and for that I'm grateful.

Heartache 17-02-13 21:10

Im trying to help a fellow fan enjoy the game... If I personally dont see a problem with a 15 year old TR fan enjoying this game, then Ill try to help him/her out, regardless of what the law is, or what the parents think...
If his/her parents are too naive to allow him/her to play the game, I have no problem with helping that ignorance get circumvented...
And the way I suggested it, there would be a reciept, so I dont know what you mean by that.... everyones got a cool grandmother, aunt or uncle...

Just because Linoshi Croft or I don't agree with people's fascination with hair, doesn't make us stupid. Try to be a little more open-minded. :)

All you do is bitch when the hair topic is brought up, we do nothing but talk about the hair and bitch back at you.

As for the stupid don't pay attention to it, if I actually wanted to insult anyone or make them feel bad I would do it an even lower-leveled and less-mannered way, lol :p .
