Speaking of quivers, is it possible that if she were to ever lose her bow, she'll just go on a rampage shoving enemies through their throats like a savage woman?

Savage woman vs humanity! kinda like that Woman against the Wild (Bunny).

I love graphics in this area! And they will look even better! BTW Anybody noticed this!? Aside my beautiful skull drawing :D

Lukass 24-09-12 10:30

^ Love that scene too, except the pick axe magically appearing in her hand. There's no skull lol.

MyRaider4Life 24-09-12 10:31

That area was REALLY impressive, I must say.

Personally, I loved the detail in the steps and the crumbling brick wall thing Lara hides behind.

Rai 24-09-12 10:33

How do you know the axe magically appears, perhaps the player has to select it or 'draw it' similar to how you draw guns, it's just pressing a button, hardly any skill needed. And lol at the skull :p.

I love that scene too, gorgeous scenery.

Lukass 24-09-12 10:39

^ You can see that the axe magically appears in her hand. And even if it's the player who has to draw it, it still magically appears in her hand :p

I love this jump too. The environment is beautiful in that scene. I think this is a tomb entrance.

Rai 24-09-12 10:56

It could be a tomb. I remember watching that and wondering why she didn't go in the entrance :p. About the axe, I know it's an easy excuse, but maybe CD hadn't fine tuned the animation to grab it yet.

She should draw the axe before the jump itself. Once you're in the air, you have no time to draw it. Well, that's not an issue, really. There are other things that bugs me more. :p

You can't tell me that there's no skull :p If I see it, then you can't convince me that there isn't a rock shaped like a skull. :tea:I know that CD didn't plan to do that on purpose....

Did you notice that there seems to be a path around the mountain in the rocks under the "skull" you see?

How do you know? It looks accesible to me. And CD said multiple times that if you can see it, you can get there.

I'm sorry, but no, it's not a path. There's nothing, but three stupid trees. :vlol:

I agree, it is a lot healthier to think this way than to have all your hopes and dreams burnt down ala Underworld.

1.) I still do a little. :D
2.) To the left from the trees. There is a clear difference in the lighting of the mountain.

2) So what?

That´s right, I´m trying not to expect anything concrete. I was just pointing to what they said. Although it might be at the same as "We´re getting quiet now for couple of months"...

Seriously Crystal Dinamics/ Square Enix, whoever is handling the "marketing strategy", change your marketing department now. Just take a look at this, the biggest Tomb Raider forum is DEAD!

I seriously don't know how in the world you expect for this game to make it big when you can't even get the fans interested. Sure the podcasts are a nice addition, but that is exactly what they should be, an addition, not the only thing you give to the customers.

But let's put aside the rest of the gaming community and focus just on the fans of the franchise. You are being utterly disrispectful to the people that are your biggest support. We grew up with the franchise that is in your hands right now, and are really inerested in this new game that looks like it will bring the franchise back to life, and if the fans can use a part of their free time to vote for Tomb Raider in a contest, or discuss it with other people and even maybe try to change their negative view on the new game... well I feel we deserve more than a podcast of what the Crystal Dynamics staff likes to eat for lunch.

I think a few hints and clues here and there won't kill the great Marketing Strategy.

Hey guys,

To briefly address this train of thought, I want to remind those concerned (with no disrespect intended) that our marketing strategy is aimed at not just hardcore fans. While you guys are tuned into every single interview and demo and so on, most people only see each stage of our content drops once. Many of you have watched the hunting demo over and over, but those attending Eurogamer or Igromir or NYCC have never seen it in person, nor had a chance to get their hands on it. It's fresh to most of them. It wouldn't make sense to show new code at Eurogamer and then another new drop at Igromir. Attendees wouldn't have the basic context of the game that the hunting demo communicates.

I try to used the podcasts as a means to show what it's like to work at a game studio, and to put some light on our strategies - including marketing decisions. Because some of you have been concerned about not getting any new information, I asked Karl specifically to address it in the podcast that just went live.

You'll be getting more details about the game prior to launch. Extended preview impressions, partnership announcements, and so on. Karl actually drops a pretty big tidbit about an upcoming partnership. :D

I'm genuinely interested if you guys find this sort of transparency interesting. Does it help to alleviate your concerns at all?

I didn't notice it before, but I can see what appears to be a path. I have no doubts we can get there. If there's a mountain path on the mountain we're descending, why not one on the other side of that valley/forest?. Seems perfectly feasible to me. Take no notice of the negative Nancy's here (I mean no disrespect guys) :p.

I don't think it's being realistic to just assume the worst. I could turn that around and say I'm being realistic by saying you can get to that path (that is there btw). If there's a path on one mountain that you're on, it's perfectly reasonable to think you can get to the the other one. It's the same as the paths/areas below Lara that we see; she happens to land on the platform with the building, but there is an area below that, that I'm sure we can reach at some point.

To answer your question, yes it does. When you say nothing it makes us feel ignored and like our opinions don't matter, so you directly replying to a post like you did really helps, in my opinion. Transparency and honesty is always best in my book. So thank you very much for addressing our concerns. :D

And also, thank you for the podcast. I'm going to listen to it now. :D

Lukass 24-09-12 19:05

Glad to hear it. I try my best to always get you timely answers, but sometimes it take a bit of digging to clarify or coordinate this sort of stuff.
