sorry lets talk about tomb raider i just love rainbows :cln:

larafan25 12-10-12 17:46

Well only because it would be offtopic if we didn't discuss TR, though there is a thread for LGB- oh wait it's closed NVM.

I'm wondering how long Lara is on the island, has it been said if we'll see any seasonal changes?

I'd love a hub that has lots of orange trees and fallen leaves.

What are you guys thoughts on this?

^ i want this!

larafan25 12-10-12 17:49

I think it's decent, though someone mentioned the glossiness of the paint, and I would agree that a matte finish would be better IMO.

Her joints are quite visible, compared to the FF Play Arts I have which are very very nice looking.

But she's still great and I want her!

Did you know that Richard Croft looks exactly like Ernest Shackleton in your avatar and Ernest Shackleton is the inspiration behind Conrad Roth's character?

It's quite strange. lool.

As much as there is no swimming in the game I'd love a historically accurate wetsuit for Lara.

I find this nun-ification of Lara really annoying :/ !

It blocks so many possibilities!

Not to mention that her current ginormous cleavage is more slutty than her previous uncovoured legs!

I know. ._.

Though I find her cleavage nicer in this game, as weird as that is. It just seems like real cleavage, not trying to be cleavage.

I love the design but the pattern needs more colour imo. Too plain.

larafan25 12-10-12 18:04

I wonder what the flooded caverns will be like.

In fact I wonder if many of the tombs will be expansive and complex, or just linear horror-ish segments.

It's definately rather nice but it's exactly what you described!

Not to mention that her bra is visible!

I mean, they say they want to make her less-sexualised and then, after they remove the shorts they give her a huge cleavage with visible bra o_O !!!

They are expansive, complex and fully explorable.

What would we do in these expansive and complex underground areas?

I think that the tombs will be the exact opposite of the cavern we begin in.

I think they pretty much confirmed it actually in an interview which was posted somehwere here.

Could the tombs be equivalent to the full tomb levels in CD's past three games? Because that wouldn't be too bad at all.

I wouldn't have a problem either but for even saying that it could be like that we are subject to virtual stoning by most TRF members :p ...

But what kind of stuff can they put in these tombs/ caves?

Hopefully some good platforming with crumbling surfaces and some tricky jumps.

But we obviously won't have traps like TRA and classics.

Nor will we have contrived puzzles. Will we find nonsense contraptions? IDK. :/

Lots of wading, but through what? Linear narrow tunnels leading in one direction?

This! I don't care how are they. I just want them to be fully explorable like, do that puzzle to find a key that opens a door which contains another puzzle to actually open the big thing! Lol, am I sounding too cliché? :o

Who cares if it's Cliche when that's fun and what the game is?

If we have to find even one key in this game, I'll crey with happiness. That would be so cool.

edit: We really don't know how the game plays in that respect, or if we do it's just not similar at all too the old fetch-tasks.

I\d love the carrying of heavy blocks to return from TRU though. That stuff is cool, make some good physics puzzles CD.

Yeah!

We need a thread eventually, to come up with puzzle ideas that fit in line with CD's vision.

When they include swimming in TR2/10 we could have some drainage puzzles that involve blocking off water flow, etc...

Wind puzzles would be quite decent, like the wind tower in Kaya.

I hoping for that! *_*
EDIT: It seems like Crystal's going with Uncharted, at first we couldn't swim just wade through the water, but now he can dive

larafan25 12-10-12 18:34

So I'm watching TR4 Karnak and do you think that puzzles with relevant items such as Canopic jars would be allowed?

I'd love to be able to pick everything up, and for us to enter tombs and see blocks and treasures lying around that have to be used now and later in different orders for puzzle solving.

It propably won't happen, they've said that her inventory will be visble on her body, meaning no bottomless backpack which means that if she is to pick up and use something for a puzzle she will be holding it with her hands, unless it's small enough for her to put it in a pocket or something, and I doubt that we will be picking up stuff for puzzles every second.

Ok, so where's her camera? She might not have a bottomless backpack, but have bottomless pockets :pi:

CD could create a weight language using a reoccurring series of objects, some debris blocks, some fancy architecture pieces, and some symbolic relics and idols.

Then we can pick them up and learn the weight of each different object, and we will find these objects in most tombs, if they have physics puzzles. Because the game will probably be set in one location, that makes it easier to have a constant set of items that follow a similar visual theme. Then we can enter a tomb and find rubble and these items in corners, and if there is a weight mechanism we place them, on, and later in the same tomb we may need more weight in another puzzle, so we have to return, but be mindful of the things we've activated when removing the older weights, in case doors close or we're trapped, etc..

Speaking of that I want life or death situations, some fast, and some slow.

For example a slow one would be a decision we have to make, and if make the wrong one we wait as the ceiling slowly lowers with spikes, and we die.

A fast one would be when the trap is sprung on us without our choosing, and we have to make a live or die decisions n the heat of that moment.

Plus we need a journal back and symbols/ riddles to solve, like hieroglyphs.

I'll be disappointed if there aren't any puzzles with artifacts or items. They were missed in TRL and TRU.

They should really go with the bottomless backpack because it feels more realistic. :p
(Because it's bigger, duh)
