I totally agree with you. They should at least include some voice lines after her first few kills where she says things like "Oh my god!" or "What have I done?" or "I didn't do that!" Maybe she could talk about it to Roth after bandaging him and that's when she realises that she has no choice but to accept that part of her.

She talks to Roth during a ladder climb before the demo starts on IGN and says that it was easier that she thought to kill someone. Maybe she's a sociopath, I mean she was described something along those lines in Tomb Raider 1, I do not remember if it was by Core themselves though. I do not think that anyone would go that fast from shipwrecked to killer. The pacing should have been slower. At least they changed the scene where she meets Mathias. Too many things happen too soo, it feel like you are in a movie, and real life doesn't quite work like that.

I agree that they should of put Lara's first kill later on in the game, maybe after the radio tower or something, but given the situation Lara is in, I wouldn't say it's unrealistic. She has no choice but to kill people; it's killed or be killed. I think anyone in that situation who was also armed would try to defend themselves in the same way. But, like I said, they should of done the whole first kill thing later. Maybe have Lara get used to killing animlas first, ease her into the thought of having to fight for her life or something. I think that would of made Lara more believable, but I guess CD really wanted to get into heavy combat as soon as possible. I mean, God forbid if the first 2 hours of a modern day game was just quiet exploring, with minimal combat encounters with a wolf or two. :p

Yes, but to their defense we can kill animals if we want. It would have been so cool if they made the pacing slower and did not make her go Rambo on their asses. As someone on another board has wrote,"the scavengers will need protection from Lara", in other words she was marketed as being this scared inexperienced girl, yet she has no problem and feels no remorse when she breaks their necks or stabs them in the face with an arrow.
I find this version of Lara to be more Teflon then ever before. She's like a terminator, also the the whole thing with the health system doesn't help her case. I mean sure Tomb Raider II was filled with baddies, but this is kinda ridiculous. At least there is stealth, because if she was forced to handle them heads on, the game's whole mechanics and promise would have felt like a complete joke.
They should have kept the excessive number of enemies for multiplayer. I do not doubt that it will be fun to kill them, but c'mon, she's supposed to be a scared girl of 21. I know Karl will say "it's just a game.." well Karl, you're wrong! That was his reply when a person from IGN asked him about the spike from the demo in 2011. In real life she wouldn't have been able to get back up from that blow/fall.
