It only came in 1994 the year of my birth so it's only 24 years :D
We have done some terrific progress in animation but nothing can replace the feeling of an all drawn animation :) The japanese are still using this technique for their animations series and movies. :)

IMO it's just movies for people who think animation is a subpar way to tell a story.

And the Beauty and the Beast remake wasn't even good. I didn't like Emma Watson as Belle. Her singing was... not great. At all.
