Tomb Raider: Lost In The Canyons (Full Version)
DOWNLOAD DEMO TRAILER 1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ix8UthfnHx8 ABOUT THE LEVEL Another day, another adventure. Lara is after an ancient artifact lost in the canyons (pun intended hehe). So she takes a train to a canyon riddled with secrets, temples, and thieves, and she realizes her adventure may not be as simple as she initially thought. In order to access the sacred temple, she must prove her worth by searching and conquering the elemental temples throughout the canyon and defeat their respective guardian. However, the infamous thieves have also been searching for this artifact. In a race against the thieves (with help from the locals along the way), Lara must find the artifact before they do. Inspirations I've been inspired by the N64-era Zelda games (Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask), the Metroidvania style of the Metroid games, as well as the classic Tomb Raider games (obviously ) The biggest influence by far for doing a hub style game was Ocarina of Time. In fact, the starting room of my Swamp Temple was inspired by the intro of the Forest Temple. At this moment, a lot of the audio I used for this stems from Tomb Raider, Assassins Creed II, Ocarina of Time, and Majora's Mask. There's even some Cusco for good measure. Sometimes I get inspired from songs or songs from those games. Scrapped content from Lost In The Canyons v1.0 Livestreams WIPs Last edited by tombraiderxii; 09-02-20 at 21:14. |

How funny.
I remember that picture, wasn't that for TR HUB competition here? Did you gave up or you'll use this level later too? |

I really liked the original 'Lost in Canyons' level - great to see that you're expanding on it. Look forward to seeing more.

Hey,
can I add some suggestions on how to improve your level? I noticed that in some of your screens your lighting is really good and well balanced, like in this one. But other areas in your game look slightly dull because the lighting offers very little contrast. It looks sort of monochrome, like in this pic. I think you could greatly improve the look of your level if you spice up the lighting in those monotone areas, maybe with some light beams or little lamps/glowing crystals that give off some light...? |
