Three Female Herione Comparisons
So I have noticed these three female heroine's have similar traits and are extremely similar in terms of thier character, design, personality etc. and was wondering do you think game companies/character designers maybe perhaps 'borrowed' ideas off of each other? do you agree with these comparisons?
here they are: Lara Croft(Tomb Raider): Ellie(The Last Of Us): Katniss Everdeen(The Hunger Games): Traits and things I found they have in common are: They all have had to survive in harsh circumstances/enviroments, scavage and kill to survive. they can hold their own and have that 'girl power' strong personality and little things I have noticed: they all prefere to have their hair in a ponytail and are brunette they all favour/weild a bow so what do you guys think? do you agree? discuss ps. I wasn't sure where to post this exactly so I thought general would be ok |

It's a recent trend we've been seeing lately thanks to Hollywood. I wouldn't be surprised if there's more unlisted in the direct-to-video market.

I wouldn't exactly call Ellie a heroine, but she can totally hold her own though. She's more in line with Carl from The Walking Dead.

This. I'm sure there will be other things in the media world coming up that have very similar characters to these 3 even they aren't necessarily the hero.

Katnis is okay but the hunger games 'world itself is stupid imo.
Lara is an over melodramatic Mary Sue. Ellie is definitely the best. |

--- As for a brunette ponytail, that's just a generic hairstyle and seemingly everyone uses a bow these days. |

It wasn't meant to be a direct comparison. It's that they're both young and head strong, yet have a lot to learn. They can take care of themselves, and others, but neither of them are real heroes.
I'd rather have Ellie over Carl. Carl will probably get your killed, if he doesn't kill you first. |

Really wish CD hadn't abandoned the dual pistols.
