How can I make Lightmaps and Specmaps work with the handgun options? :/

You can't. Use a render group that uses transparency and make one diffuse with alpha and another with out and make a readme: if you want to show the guns or whatever rename this to this and ta-daaa

You can include 2 mesh files into the same MOD folder.
  1. A file Generic_Item.mesh using the old Generic format. Use handgunhandleft for this model (No lightmap)
  2. A file xps.xps using the new Generic format. Use 23_-hand gun left.handgunhandleft for this model (diffuse, lightmap and bump map, ... specular map)

On this way, the outdated XNALara versions use the model Generic_Item.mesh without lightmaps and the latest XPS version use the optional Item with lightmaps

Default XNALara Mac Problems

Hi, everyone. I'm new to the forum and I was wondering if there was someone who knew how to get the XNALara program running on Mac? I looked everywhere for an answer but no luck. Hopefully, someone will help me out here because I've been wanting to try my hand on this program for a while and show of my skills...or what little I know of the program. If there's anyone who can help me, I would appreciate it.

yup its like TRDaz said, unfortunately. but if you really must, you can still make a partition via bootcamp, and install windows in the new drive. then run xnalara from the windows.

alternatively... you can use applications like CrossOver to run windows app/exe in mac but i wouldn't recommend it since it has very low chance of success most of the time haha

Will installing Windows interfere with the operating systems on my Mac? Because I know Mac runs fast and Windows I'm not sure about. I just want to use XNALara. I won't use CrossOVer then but just find a safe way to install Windows without it interfering with my Mac's system operations.

as far as i know, it wont interfere at all. i have a macbook with 2 partitions: snow leopard on one and windows XP on the other. it works completely fine everytime you boot up your mac, you can then choose to use osx or windows, or switch freely between these two anytime via bootcamp interface.

there is a comprehensive manual online on setting up bootcamp for your mac. i highly recommend you check it out so you can tailor the preferences to best suits your liking ^^
