Stairs animation was custom code if memory serves? Regardless, I think that the more options we have the better. That's the best part of a patcher such as this. The more options it has, the more accurately one individual can patch their game with things that fit their personal tastes.

Disabling stair animations is easy to do, enabling all moves on stairs like sprinting while keeping the animations requires custom code. If you disable the stair animations, it allows you to do all moves as well.

I agree; as many tickable options as possible would be great. I also wouldn't have desired a hop back to replace just walking backwards because I'd imagine hopping takes away the ability to stop moving backwards at whatever length you wanted to go back. (I haven't played with the mod yet. )

If you hold walk, you still walk backwards so you can still do it that way.

^ Yeah, this plus the backstep/gallop option allows Lara to still move backwards at a constant pace, unlike the classic hop back. And also still allows you to stop from falling off ledges by pressing the Walk key rather than holding it, which still makes her walk backwards as Reborn said.

If anyone's unsure about that option before trying, I'd really recommend watching LateRaider's video showcasing it over in the Tank Plus thread.

uhhh you do remember you can hold down walk to walk backward, right? just like tomb raiders 1 thru 5?

i swear it's like people forget you can do this basic move

Actually my executable contains the 180 Turn when I press the back button. Is there a way of keeping the 180 turn and also use the hop back functionality?

Keep in mind that this is very experimental and it definitely has some issues but I do think that it improves the gameplay massively so I want to release it soon, hopefully will be improved with time.
