EDIT: Played with an unaltered RP v1.2.1 EXE from Tomb of the Ancients onwards. Got "stuck" again. Vasiley Full Fax wasn't where it was supposed to be. It seems it didn't spawn. Hi.
I am eager to translate the text to german, but the database file is really confusing. I assume that there is some kind of index for the text strings in the db, because the german text works most of the time. Do you have something like an editor? Also, I would like to know if there is a way to contact ATombRaiderFan. Maybe he could mux german sound and subtitles into his videos. In any case, thanks for the great work on the Restoration Project. It makes a lot more fun to play the game once again. |

One thing I should let you know, though, is that so much sound effect mixing is coming that I don't think we can offer nor guarantee compatibility with non-English voice acting. Not unless we find people wanting to splice together voice lines themselves out of existing lines. If you signing on as a translator means that you want the German voice acting as well, you also might need to find someone who will edit audio for you unless you want to take that on yourself.

Please read the FAQ in the second post of this thread if you get "stuck" in levels. Not talking about obvious glitches of course.
Anyways I removed that crash and the save works after that, who knows why they added that crash there since it seems to work fine so I'll remove it on the next release by default. Will PM you the fixed save. |

OMG! I'm so excited to finally play this!!!!!! I remember noticing that this Boulangerie building was not present in the version we saw in some pictures and gameplay videos. I was wondered if it was included in a later or earlier version.

From a keyboard-and-mouse-with-camera-relative-controls user point-of-view here are some subjective notes on how the game (i.e., the Restoration Project) should be by default: - Feels like Notebook entries get written down on random pages making me search through it often wondering which one is the new one. New entries should instead be added to the last page. - Climbable walls were very indistinguishable from the regular ones. Got used to it later on, but it would be nice if the texture was somehow more obvious. - I play with WASD+Action, but I'm forced to use Arrows+Enter for menus, and Arrows+Action for conversations/numberpads/clock. Would be nice if these were interchangeable/interusable. - Can't skip conversations. Idealy, Action key should skip to next person speaking and Escape key should skip it completely. - Both mouse axis inverted state has been flipped from what it's supposed to be by default and now requires user to turn it on, to have it normal/non-inverted. Trivial, but feels wrong. - Camera is too jumpy and keeps on repositioning as you move requiring you to constantly readjust which is annoying. Shouldn't be doing that ever. - Along with the above-mentioned, camera locking in space (like it does at the green bin at the very start) should never be happening. - Not being able to rotate the character in spot is the biggest annoyance. Character should always face where the camera is facing (except for Look mode). - Returning to game from Alt-Tabbing very often results in pitch-black windowed screen (not frozen, just black) which requires me to kill the process and start up the game again (or Alt+F4>Up>Enter>Alt+F4>Up>Enter). - Lara couldn't sprint in Aquatic Research Area level. At least not for me, and only in that one (from the levels after acquiring Sprint). - Sprinting should be available from the very start instead of for the second half of the game only. It's quite strange and sad it isn't. - Would be great if Lara would always say something for every interactable she can't use yet (e.g., "It won't open"). Currently she does it only for some. - Numberpads are disegaged by jumping while cameras by Ctrl. It would make more sense if you could just walk away. - It's unusual that ScrollUp and ScrollDown can't be bound, but Mouse4 and Mouse5 can. ScrollUp and ScrollDown should change weapons by default (or alternatively control the camera zoom level). - An autosave at the beginning of every level would be most helpful for when things go wrong. - Additional FMVs are too big and don't play in-game out-of-the-box (apparently require LAV filters installed). - "Developer Interviews" points to MAKINGOF.MPG, while "Making of" points to MOVIE.MPG. Seems unintentional. - Subtitle (and Alt+F4 prompt) font looks too plain. Even by making it thicker only would look better. - Alt+F4 should terminate the game instantly. Currently, if playing, I need to do it twice and confirm twice (Alt+F4>Up>Enter>Alt+F4>Up>Enter). This will be all from me! Good luck with the project! |
