Oh, didn't even know you could patch the Steam version to TombATI.
I'll give it a try.

I think that the most easy way today to play TR1 on a modern PC is to buy the original game on PS1 and use a PS1 emulator that will run the original PS1 CD inside your computer.

I doubt it. GliDos is for NTVDM (V86) which Windows 10 x64 does not have. And because of some stupid AMD decision it is actually impossible on HW level to run V86 process in Long Mode (64b mode).

You probably meant TombATI installer which is downloadable from GliDos website. But TombATI is not GliDos.

There are patches for several graphics adapters including 3Dfx on the CD.

DOSBox !! For 64 bit windows and real GLIDOS.

Also, sorry to bump this thread, but why does nobody try to use Gidierre’s installer ? It worked for me instantly first try, and patched the game to add the music tracks and deinterlace the FMVs - have other people not found this method successful ?

Whether you have Steam, GOG, or the original CD (I have the latter two) - it just ‘does it’ for you.

I used that one for years but it still uses DOSBOX. Which emulates the game and comes with a lot of crashes. TombATI is the better choice in my opinion because it runs much much more fluid, it's more stable and it's easier to add custom patches to it. No disrespect to Gidierre by any means. He still helped hundreds of us in the long run.
