Great to see the tomb5 project made public and thank you Woops and the team for your hard work. Just a couple of questions, are the moon and stars textures something you've found hidden in the game files or is it something different? I do think this change makes the Ireland levels look even more beautiful.

Is it possible to tackle the issue of images getting stretched when playing TRC in widescreen? Afaik this affects the following; startup trademark screen, main menu logo, loading screens, pause/inventory background image (when playing in 16 bit output resolution), and special features images.

Anyway, this project is awesome and a good excuse to replay TRC!

I literally woke up to a notification on my phone from github saying that this project made a release. What a great way to start a day!

This is so amazing! Thank you so much!

I just replayed TR5 last week, but I guess I will have to replay it again now.

I just have a semi-off-topic question: I see so many different patches and fixes for other TR games, but never anything for TR4. I know that the entire TRLE world is basically built on TR4 with things like TRNG and FLEP, but is there any chance of similar fixes like this being worked on for the actual TR4 game? (Such as improved draw distance, crawlspace roll and flip, Lara's braid collision etc.)

(Maybe it exists and I'm just living under a rock...)

I’m honestly amazed by all of this. Seriously, this is such an amazing project. Thank you to everyone involved for all of your hard work. This really helps Chronicles feel like a more polished and complete game on PC

Yes, it's planned

My only suggestion would be to make the moon smaller, as it's several times larger than how it appears in our sky. Although Bruce Almighty moons are in most videogames, so it really isn't a problem.
I kept the original scale Core had, but we'll keep this in mind for when we decide on a way to make things optional, so people can choose a size then

The track of the laser trap in the corridor leading to the room with the level's first secret appears to have been shortened to just the 2 squares next to the crawlspace that leads to the room. I'm not sure if it's the patch's doing or something else.
Thank you for reporting, will look into it

The moon and the stars are indeed things in the original game, just hidden. In fact, you can see the moon in the PS1 version, only in Gallows Tree. It was broken on PC before, but we fixed it

Original PC moon:

And, a lot of platform fixes are planned, they just take a lot of time

As far as I know, not really :v most research was done on the trle executable instead.. but, as some may already know, the TR4 and 5 engines are pretty similar. so with all the knowledge of TR5, something for TR4 would definitely be a lot easier to accomplish

Cool, I had no idea it was there in the original. The larger size really isn't a problem if that was the developer's intent. So don't worry about it.

Thank you for this info! Maybe at some point TR4 can be fixed and improved then. I always feel like it would be an almost flawless game and not half as annoying if it just had the crawlspace roll and flip.

No matter, thank you for working on TR5 like this, and even saying you are working on fixing the travesty that is Red Alert!

Also, I found this screenshot of yours in another thread and just had to post it here for any who have not seen this. I personally didn't even know the underwater level was supposed to look this beautiful.
