Oh right. But Larson's last name isn't mentioned is it? I knew Crystal gave at least one of them a last name they didn't have before.

According to the later games larson did have a last name in TR1 and 5 which is conway of course.

With a bit of research it becomes apparent that the Rome Section in TR5 is infact a year before TR1. Larson and Pierre survived the encounters with Lara in TR5 but were killed in TR1.
This has already been brought to your attention but I'd like to add that it was a bit careless of Core to not make it more clear; lots of people have found the "double death" rather confusing.

Perhaps that's true. After original TR, I had long assumed that "Larson" was his last name. If something had contradicted that, I think I would have noticed it.

It's strange that larson is actually his first name when people assumed it was his last name.

By the time of Rome, Lara already knows larson, since they needed no introductions at the opera, so i assume they have a long history before TR5 and TR1.
