The reason for the AOD Clothing color
Alot about this game referenced AOD. I think it was purposefully done to signify the end of an era, and close out the survivor trilogy with nods to the classic revelations trilogy end.
Or did they just like the colors to the aod teaser trailer outfit? Maybe the connection is that shadow is just the trailer of what will really come after, which is the actual AOD which is unification.

It had to occur to them. There's a limited number of outfits in the series. And Shadow of the TR had a lot in common with AOD. As soon as the title was announced people were immediately making comparisons.

Shadow was teased as a darker more horror-themed tomb raider, especially in comparison to the previous two reboot games. Therefore with the darker clothing and grittier tone. Just like AOD.
