TRLE games very laggy on Radeon 6000 graphics

Hallo everyone! I'm a of fan of fan-made trle games based on the trle engine. Till now, I used either integrated Intel graphics or NV GTX750 or Radeon 7770. On all of them these engines worked fine. But now I tried Radeon 6500 XT with latest drivers and the engine is extremely laggy. All games downloaded from trle.net do the same thing. Depends on view direction. If there is longer view distance, it became very laggy like 5FPS or so. It does the same thing in Window 7 and Windows 10. Any ideas? Can someone verify it is indeed issue on ot he machines with Radeon 6000 series (and possibly even earlier?).

I have a Radeon 5700 XT with the same problem. Using DGVoodoo 2 solves the problem for me
