Default Alicia Vikander as Lara

According to Biz Buzz - A script for Tomb Raider 2 is “in the making”, according to Alicia. While the pandemic has stalled plans for the yet-to-be “greenlit” follow-up, writer and director Misha Green has been working on the script. Lovecraft Country creator Green joined the project- which has a working title of Tomb Raider: Obsidian - in January 2021 after Ben Wheatley was previously attached. The movie was originally set for a March 2021 release date but filming was delayed, and “it’s very recent” that the writer started work. She says “So I’m very excited to sort of read something very soon”.

I can’t wait.

This is already being discussed in the relevant section although there's not a separate thread for it. I will move this thread.

Also, if you're quoting from an article it would be helpful to provide a link .

The movie industry is currently going through hard time, mainl with Box Office Money.

Netflix and Disney+ are probably the only ones that have created a solid base for them to to keep safe and keep the money flowing into their pockets.

However, even Disney Movies do not seem to be making very big numbers in the box office; so what to say for other studios.

The WB deal with HBO max has proven to be a huge fail for the studio.

Movie Goers are interested to watch a movie opening night and that's it.

A movie might open with big numbers, but it falls over than 75% in its second week and a movie is barely reaching 200M in domestic US numbers.

And this is very bad since movies now cost no less than a 150 M US$

I feel that greenlighting this movie will take sometime.

I didn’t realize there was a TR Motion Picture section. Thanks for moving it. There was no link, it was in our paper.

Edit: I see it now under TR Franchise. Guess I usually skip over that area. lol
