Here's the sword she's wielding:

Does that mean we'll finally get other melee weapons?
Maybe this means we'll get a better melee. When they showed the sword from Yamatai in Blood Ties, I always wondered if they'd expand on the idea of her wielding one. However I'm a little confused on what type of melee she'll have in Shadow. They showed her fighting a lot with her hands in comics and then she now has a sword. Will we be able to choose how we want to fight?

So, what did we all think of the full issue?

I liked it, a nice change of pace from the action. It felt cute and quite personal.

I have read the comics, and it was a heartfull story with Lara who try to spend a year without raiding tombs and simply travel around the world doing various activities. But the art on this one is simply awfull

I really liked it, it's not as good as the second issue but I think it's only setting up the 4th issue so that's fine. I really enjoyed how Lara was travelling around the globe and trying to find herself and live a normal life. I really like this arc.

Actually, I thought the art in this one was a bit better. Still not great and still far from Ashley A. Woods best work, but better than the last issues.

And although I think this arc is getting to father-centric for many tastes (especially considering Lara's monologue at the end of RotTR and that we already had two father-less arcs before this one), if there is one thing I like in this arc is the writing. It's really good. Hoping the next arc is more Lara-oriented, to see what Lanzing and Kelly can do with a fatherless story

Agreed. The writing in this arc has been very solid.

So I believe the tear, is due to seeing where her mother is buried?

Also I've been working on an ongoing (floating) timeline:

Year 1: Age 21
The Beginning: June 16 - 23
Tomb Raider: June 23 - July 23
The Ten Thousand Immortals: July 23 - September 3
Season of the Witch: September 3 - to late September

Year 2: Age 22
Secret and Lies: Early January - mid February
Queen of Serpents: early June – mid July
Rise of the Tomb Raider: late October – mid November

Year 3: Age 23
Spore: Mid January - late January
Choice and Sacrifice: Late January - Mid February
Survivor's Crusade - Part I [Flashback: March]: April

Year 4: Age 24
Survivor's Crusade - Part II: April Year 3 - May

So the latest issue shows Lara diving in scuba gear, could this be a hint of what’s coming in the next game?
