Default Other locations TR3 could've visited?

India, Nevada, South Pacific, London, Antarctica

Really the only reason we were limited to 5 locations were:
  • Core's time constraint and budget
  • Meteor rock split in 4 and sent to 4 places away from the 5th final place*
*Then we get The Lost Artifact which deals with a 5th split meteorite as the "Hand of Rathmore" and we go to Scotland and France (but no underpants)
So what if there were even more?
What other settings could Lara visit to try and get more pieces of the Meteorite?

Personally I'd go with places TR hasn't really visited before even in future games.
Places like
  • Morocco
  • Maine
  • Montana
  • Montenegro
  • and Belarus

Surely the locations could be pretty much anywhere? I understand that some artefacts are located in specific places, but if Core/Crystal were to introduce a fictive artefact, then I'm guessing that they could choose for it to be anywhere.

I think the amount of locations were more than enough. But it would be cool to have seen Lara visit a castle. Maybe instead of Thames Wharf location, she could've visited an old English village with a castle. The story could have been enhanced by giving the artefact a better background story as to why it was there, instead of the cosmetic storyline. Plus we've never seen had a castle level

While not in the base game, there is a castle as the main location at the start of TR3 The Lost Artifact (it's Willard's, or his family's, or maybe an abandoned one he acquired as his summer home (or RX Tech base) away from Antarctic cold?). It's Scottish, not English, though.

And there was cut content from AoD regarding Castle Kriegler.

Though we still get a cosmetic storyline in The Lost Artifact where there's a fifth artifact and Lara has to find it before an old enemy gets it first. No info about how it got there.

My choice of locations [TR3 or future game] for Lara to go would be

Australia / New Zealand

Africa / Savanna

Spain / Galleon, old castles, churches and sewer system a'la cistern in TR1

Scottland / Ireland / Rainy environments

Canada / Cold Forests

Something along the lines.

I love the original locations, but if I were to change them:

India ---> id keep India but move the location to the Mountains in Nanda Devi. Having Lara work her way up the mountain, finding the artefact inside etc.

Nevada ---> Los Vegas. Haha it would be so cool seeing Lara raid a casino full of thugs in order to retrieve the stolen artfifcat from a notorious gangster (maybe he's trying to produce illegal substances from it to sell I dunno haha) This section could still see Lara being imprisoned by the thugs and having to escape from their drug factory)

London ---> English Castle. Because, well, castles Yano. Maybe add a horse riding section that would be cool

SPI ---> Japan Suicide Forest. This may be kinda controversial, but Lara exploring a haunted forest with dead bodies would be really eerie and creepy. could add supernatural elements. Maybe not as controversial in the 90's but then again it could cause a lot of controversy if released today.

Antarctica ---> South Pacific Islands. I love this location it's so beautiful! Lara arrives in an airplane but it crashes (similar to how Antarctica began, so the first level would essentially be crash site. then meets willard in one of the huts in Coastal Village. Has a boat chase with him in Madubu Gorge (replace the Kayak with a speedboat since it would be impossible with the kayak haha). Then enter the Temple of Puna to finish willard off! SPI was the most challenging section for me so it fits the finale perfectly.

Peruvian jungle.

Because it literally got cut due to time constraints. See alpha screenshots.

I'm pretty sure Peru was just the early stages of South Pacific Islands...

They included Scotland (and Nessie) in The Lost Artifact.

No. Peru was separate.
