While we're waiting for ANY news, I wonder if in the sequel we're going to see Lara graduate university or something like that by any chance since, unlike Reboot game Lara, she does not have higher education.
Like I've seen someone mention this before on here, she only knows what her father taught her - almost as if she's not even interested in archaeology. I still, however, see Alicia's Lara as one of my favorite incarnations of the character, if not THE favorite, personality-wise.
I would also love, love, LOVE to see Alicia speak a different language in the next movie

I kinda hope they donít. Itís a bit cliche and I think itís nice how the first movie showed she donít need really any formal education.

I also donít think a particular interest in archeology (at least not on a highly educated level) is necessary for this version of Lara.
She exhibits more of the classic Lara Croft traits than what the more serious and bookish reboot Lara does. The fun and adrenaline seeking nature specifically. And that in combination with whatís established by movie as clearly an interest and talent for puzzle solving is sufficient imo.

Oh, I totally understand where you're coming from and, of course, it's always fun to see Lara break social norms
The first movie had definitely established Lara as a very cunning and intelligent person which I loved.

Nonetheless, RLara's geekiness is one of her traits that I really enjoyed in the games, and it would be fun to see movie Lara feel euphoria just by reading an ancient scripture or doing some research.

I think Lara going to Uni during the gap between movies could still be interesting enough. I think it would be quite interesting if she started an archaeology degree just to better understand why Trinity is so interested in old mythologies (because 2018 made clear a sequel would be about Lara going after Trinity anyways), just to find herself also drawn to the ancient world. I think bit would help making clear that going on these sorts of archaeological adventures is not just her family mission, but her personal passion as well.

Add to that that she goes after Ana not to avenge her father or because it is what Crofts do, but because Ana was a bitch who has been manipulating Lara since she was 14, make it about Lara and no one else, and you have a winner set-up for me.

---

On a different note, if we are to believe IMDB we now have a gaffer.

I'm not sure they'll bother with her studying. She may do research on her own and not just relying on her dad's. I think it's more likely we'll see a training montage. After all, she bought the guns, does she know how to use them? Unless they do flashbacks of daddy teaching her. She got through the island mainly on nerve and her boxing training. She needs more if she's up against Trinity.

I'm not saying something like have a montage of Lara studying or something like that. Just more like a mention, maybe like she is specifically taking classes on cultures Trinity seems quite interested in.

I would like a prologue in London. Lara studying at the University (she might even be a celebrity there since she found Yamatai) and at the same time investigating Croft Holding and Trinity. Training at the mansion ... she preparing physically, mentally to beat Trinity. It might also be interesting for her to pretend she doesn't know anything and so she uses Ana.

I think it is essential that Lara be an archeologist. It is an essence of the character. His passion for archeology.

In the first draft I remember that she was studying at university and they change it.

Let’s just start with the movie being filmed before worrying about anything else haha

A new movie is coming (but it's not what you want)

Remember when I said classic Lara only have pornographic parody ? Well now it's time to reboot Lara to step into the game with Poon Raider, here's the synopsis :

Laura Crotch returns home to inherit Crotch Industries but is surprised to learn that her late father had remarried and now the treasure that she seeks and her father's possessions may be at risk.

You can visualise the trailer here (there's nothing sexual on it) it's on IMDB

I have to say that this is surprisingly well acted for porn standards...
