In the case of TR:AE, now I doubt they'd release it because:
1. They will have essentially released the same game twice. They'll picture potential consumers as saying "Tomb Raider Anniversary Edition? But that's already out!" 2. Those who originally worked on the project will be everywhere now - some probably unwilling to return and others tied up with new commitments. 3. I believe Eidos will see TR:AE as drastically inferior to their next gen (lol) games that they're releasing next year. They may consider releasing a game that looked good in 2005 a step back, especially now people have had a glimps of TR:U and TR:U Lara. *Shrugs* It's a big shame. It'll still be available one day, I'm confident it won't be legally though. |

True. Well thanks for that, just something I've been pondering recently and plucked up the courage to ask as a serious question.
I wonder about Inferno though?...I guess the same applies except without the "remake of a remake" accusation. :/ I know its a bit selfish for me to get my hopes up in this context but still... Last edited by Reggie; 12-01-08 at 22:21. |

No, I don't think they will ever release it to the mass market as a game up for sale, but if they cared a hoot about their fans, they would just give it to us FREE as a pc download, or charge a few bucks. I'd pay for it. It could just be released as is for whatever it is worth to the old fans. A download freebie from their website.
Eidos would definitely win some esteem from the old fans, and they might also just gain closure to the Core chapter of TR. As it stands now, there is no closure, not much forgiving, not much moving on and acceptance of the new producer of this game. |

I was thinking about the idea of Eidos releasing a TRA Gold Edition that included both Crystal and Core's version. Chances of this happening are probably zero but it would be a good idea of marketing anyway if it ever came to pass. Either that or let Core remake TR2 and release it together with TRAE (wink, wink, nudge, nudge, say no more).

It's not going to be released, and if it were then it would've been PSP, PS2 and probably PC.
