Everyone's got different opinions on what that should be though. There's no easy answer.

A lot of people would be upset if they added romance into Tomb Raider. They can do new things without adding controversial things like that.

Of course, they could always make a spin off or something where romance is indeed a thing. Maybe a Lara Croft rpg or something.

Her being Asexual is an educated assumption from looking at the tons of evidence we have. The only romantic interest she's had was in the AJ movies. Otherwise in the games she is a loner and displays characteristics of asexual.

In the Novels, in AOD...all which are mainly considered canon too, she has been shown with friends and as bad as it is...being interested in Kurtis Romanticly.

I agree with you if you go very strictly with a set amount of games, but im going with what is considered in general canon, and to that it includes novels like "The Amulet of Power" etc.
Especially there if i remember correctly, she looks back with some sense of sadness at the friends she lost over the years and all.

Other than that, I do too believe (especially after the movies' novelization where it was said, that she prefers to be alone, because there are less risk of getting distraught) that she should stay a loner; so no more "Jonahh am heee!!!" bs.

It's too early for Lara to have a romantic relationship. I think there's so much more she needs to do in her career! However I think they should definitely give her a rival type bf. Lara needs someone edgy and dangerous like her to match her energy. Jonah is definitely not that. I would go with a Kurtis Trent type guy. Chase and Carter Bell would be perfect if they're brought into the Unified timeline. The reboot had Kennard Montez from The Ten Thousand Immortals but they didn't really do anything with him. Someone who can challenge her with a cute rivalry would be much better than lovey dovey generic UC type relationship.

Any other interpretation is wrong.

I'm obviously joking, but still this is how I always interpreted the two versions of the character.
