They are actually doing some work on this game unlike with Reloaded haha.

I'm also surprised they release somewhat substantial updates instead of the "just keeping the game running" thing I thought they'd do

On that note I didn't see any new options to acquire gear and outfits but maybe it hadn't go live when I checked.

Oh and they also send you push notifications now encouraging you to go back to the game if you don't play for a while, but they seem to give up rather quickly since they only sent me one and never again

Hello, Adventurers!
We have recently started releasing version 1.17 of the game! It should become available to all of you in the next few days!
The update includes various fixes and changes, but also something new:
We're excited to announce something we have been working on for a while - our first new feature! �� �� ��
Introducing: Protective Aura!
This is an item which we aim to be useful for each and every player, no matter if they are a pro or just starting out - something that makes your experience smoother and more enjoyable!
What is the “Protective Aura”?
- This is a new consumable gear that will prevent Lara’s run from ending from a crash for a limited time!
How can we obtain it?
- It will be available in the Store - “Gear” tab and has multiple ways of being obtained! You are also able to upgrade it to increase its duration.
What happens when “Protective Aura” is used?
- Once you have obtained at least one “Protective Aura”, you can double-tap on the screen to activate it during a run! Lara will gain a special visual effect around her, for as long as the Aura is active. A countdown timer in the left corner of your screen indicates how much time you have left. If you crash into an obstacle while the Protective Aura is active, a smoke screen effect appears instead, and Lara is teleported a few meters ahead!
Important Note: Please keep in mind that “Protective Aura” cannot be activated during a battle with enemies and bosses. If you enter battle with a Protective Aura active, the timer and effect is paused until you are back on the run.

Can't seem to edit my OP anymore. Maybe that's a new rule on the forum, I am not sure.

The Internet Archive has been updated with the latest build of the game, but I saw reports that this version is full of bugs. Haven't tested it myself because the update is not out for me at the moment.

Here is the updated collection status. I am still on the hunt for old versions that are missing, but I doubt anyone will help with those after all this time.

I just tried the new update out and... I wish I hadn't updated

Santa outfit is back but it is no longer free, it costs 65 gems but I'm sure I read it's still time limited on the update patch notes so I hope if you do pay 65 gems to unlock it you get to keep it permanently instead of just unlocking it for 1 month and then see it dissapear until next year.

Supply drop is also back every 4 hours or so, but we no longer get to pick a box, instead the game just gives you one random box and there's no way to purchase more boxes.

The new Crash Shield/Protective Aure gear (they can't seem to decide on a name for this item) kind of bothers me because it just permanently stays on the HUD at all times, even when you have 0 of it it will still show up with an option to watch an ad mid-run to get more

Also ads... The era of intrusive ads has finally reached Relic Run after all these years, now you are forced to watch an ad every time you start a new run or after you finish one, you can now remove ads permanently instead for 2 bucks at the shop, not sure how I feel about this but I'll probably end up buying the ads remover because I dislike intrusive ads like that with tiny icons to close the ad.

As for bugs I didn't play long enough to find any but I did notice the framerate is kinda wonky, there's lots of frameskipping now when the game ran full-speed on the previous update on my device.

All in all I guess we got Xmas Lara back, but at what cost?

For me the Santa Outfit was already unlocked. Probably because my save file had it unlocked from way back when. They just re-enabled it in the game now. Which suggests that if you get it now, and it goes away until next Christmas, it should be unlocked for you as well.

Interesting! I did start over, I forgot about that I hope it stays permanently though.
