I'm wondering. Does anybody know if a Dualshock 4 controller works? I have it plugged in via charging cable to my PC, set the configuration to /macros, and have even adjusted the buttons so that it matches the PSX controls (or I think.) However, the only thing that works is the Left Analog stick, and it is set as preferred device.

It is possible to play remasted FMVs again, but now they must be MP4 videos

Default Failed to Create Pixel Shader

Hi,
Just got around to playing TR 2 again.
Anyways I can't get the the game to run using this mod. The game loads up the movies okay, but after the intro, the game CTDs.

The log file is attached, the error it generates is 'failed to create pixel shader'.

*The pre-requisite patch was installed as instructed by the program
*Game version: Steam

Here is my PC configuration
Intel 6600K
Gigabyte Z170 Gaming 3 Motherboard
16 GB DDR4-3200 Corsair ram (8x2)
Gigabyte GTX 1080Xtreme Gaming
Windows 10

Here is what i have already tried:
1. reinstall the game/ mod
2. reinstall DX


I can run the game fine without the mod, but would love to be able to play with it.Any help would be greatly appreciated

Download the DirectX End-User Runtime from microsoft or disable deinterlacing

P.S.: Actually a had forgotten to upload one file, download again please

It doesn't reveal anything I guess, I just find it weird because the other games work, even The Golden Mask

EDIT: Okay, so I deleted the remastered FMVs from the folder and now it works again lol

I've found that very strange because i myself still have the old bik files in my FMV folder. So i wondered if you just tried to rename those bik files, sure that it would crash the game and then tried it myself

For my surprise, the patch does play the bik files if you rename them to mp4

I'm guessing that K-lite (https://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm) ,which i have installed, has a bink codec usable with DirectShow

I don't remember renaming them, I think I actually converted them

Thank you for all your help. However I still can't get the game to work . I dont get the "failed to create pixel shader" error, but the game still refuses to run beyond the FMVs.

No texture or FMV mods installed, only the patch that the launcher instructs to install (Tomb raider XP/ Vista Multipatch).

The error.log file seems to be clear:

Edit:
TR 3 does not run either. It will play the FMVs and then crash at the title screen (tomb3.exe has stopped working). The error.log is similar to the one above except it has two entries of "aha" at the very bottom.
