Default Remastered 4K Intro Video For The PC Version

Hi all!

I've been further experimenting with making the PC versions of the LAU trilogy look better on PC and have gone through all of the .bik movie files they use and tried to upscale them with Topaz AI Video Enhancer.

As most know already Anniversary's intro quality on PC is... kinda pants.

So I originally tried to fix it by upscaling what was there but it was too low res and aliasy for it to look any good blown up.

Thanks to Eddy's Tomb Raider Channel I was able to access the cutscene to watch in real-time and in-engine using any screen resolution I wanted to using the SCU tool.

So what I've done here is record my screen to capture the scene then add in some tweaks in Adobe After Effects & Premiere to hid any visual oddities, then convert it back into a file the game can use!

I've also manually changed all of the text and added a location subtitle similar to the original 1996 release, but in the style of the 'Calcutta' scene in Anniversary.

Check out this video of it in action - https://youtu.be/k6F1WLHLML8

DOWNLOAD HERE - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Frx...ew?usp=sharing

*PLEASE NOTE* you'll need to rename the file to 'intro_w.bik' for it to overwrite the existing file and work

Hope you all enjoy

No 60 FPS?

Looks good! :thumb: I'm still wondering why they put a pre-rendered version of this video in the final game when the cutscene can be played in-game.

I genuinely could actually do one at 60fps, though when I tried it gave me some weird glitches :S

I might try it again sometime

Nice - I never noticed that the spot where the explosion took place is the same as where Tihocan froze Natla. With this resolution you can clearly see the top of the pyramid.

Good call placing the text over the right side of the screen. This remaster looks great

I figured it would look better there cause there was more empty space. plus I didn't want to hide Mr Snakey
