What kind of crumbs are you expecting? There is already promotional artwork released featuring Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft in a new outfit. They did that for a Tomb Raider film that hasn't been seen by the public eye, on the silverscreen, yet. This is huge news. You might assume everyone knows / knew, there is going to be a new Tomb Raider film.

However.

Something similar happened with Red Sonja (The reimagination). That movie didn't make it to the silverscreen, even after promotional artwork.

So the question is, what crumbs are you expecting? You know, something is up.

This is what it must have been. Fan art. I've read an article a while ago, with a pretty convincing new Tomb Raider outfit worn by Alicia Vikander, saying she is gonna do Tomb Raider 2. This would be Tomb Raider four, as this is the fourth film. I'm not going to link to this because this was months ago. Maybe this was fake news.

That would be a great basis for how Lara could look in the next movie. Some adjustments here and there and it would be great

It looks like the internet was ransacked, along with the article, and outfit Alicia Vikander is wearing. My memory, that is where it is. [ ™ ]

I really hope I'm getting what is happening.
If what was said before, about skipping Rise of the Tomb Raider, and getting to Shadow of the Tomb Raider, there is a chance the film makers would want to try, and put Tomb Raider 1996 (source) on the silverscreen as a cinema film.

With hopefully both Angelina Jolie & Alicia Vikander.

It is 2022. Hollywood is late. And the classics have made plenty movies. Period.

If this is the one, I can see why it could be mistaken as official, it's very well made. However, it's not really giving me Tomb Raider vibes, it's more pure action than even the survivor games were. It's not action adventure. Also, did they change Alicia's face, she looks barely recognisable and the look is too severe. Even set years after the first, even if it's no longer a direct sequel storywise, I'd still want to see some consistency, I'd still want to see the girl from the first movie, do you know what I mean? Hopefully, the official movie, when it happens keeps this in mind.
