At the time of Angelina Jolie I think Catherine Zeta-Jones was another candidate (Simon West confirmed this)
Angelina was wonderful but Catherine Zeta-Jones in 1999 looks very Lara Croft (She was British and very popular in that era) Let's not forget that we almost had another reboot before MGM bought the rights. Producer Dan Lin had the rights (before expired) back in the days of TR Legend. Kristen Stewart was offered the role. In the end that project died and they lost their rights. Thanks god. We've had a lot of "What if" and some really scary ones. Last edited by PinkyPromise; 29-10-21 at 22:42. |

The thought of Kristen Stewart doesn't horrify me as much as the prospect of Megan Fox.

What makes the prospect of Cara more terrifying, around the time of casting Roar Uthaug started to follow her on Instagram and Twitter.

![]() I am so pleased Alicia accepted the role, I can't imagine any of the actresses mentioned being as good as she was as Lara. Can't wait to see her again in the role.

I definitely think Alicia is top tier as a younger Lara and I'm so excited to see how she progresses in the role.
Also I can't wait to see what Haley Atwell does with the character she really delivers those classic TR2/3 vibes. It is great that we have such talent portraying our heroine. ![]()

Thanks, Rai
![]() I think if a TR movie was made in the late '90s, Sandra Bullock would physically resemble Lara nicely. I haven't seen her do many action movies (none really, if Ms. Congenitality doesn't count) but her face is spot on, her body is rocking and she even has sort of a deep, throaty voice like Judith Gibbins does ![]() I'm sure there are dozens of young unknowns out there currently that would make a nice classic-style Lara and I wouldn't trade Angie as the original for anyone but it's sort of an alternate reality what-if? scenario

That's just not how Hollywood works.. No studio would take a risk on an unknown. Especially in this case, where she would be the lead actor. At the end of the day the movie people only care about making a profit. Rhona would have been an awesome choice.
