The stuff about her father having had a global business empire makes it sound like he may not have actually been an archaeologist/adventurer (though that does raise the question of what he was doing in an ancient tomb). I'd definitely prefer "business mogul daddy who went missing" over "archaeologist daddy who went missing and whose footsteps I'm now going to follow in". Also good to know that the island is still Japanese and not Chinese and Lara working as a bike courier sounds much more fitting than her working as a bartender (like the reboot games' bio says). I mean, bartenders generally need to be somewhat social and have people skills, bike courier sounds more like something I could see a loner like Lara enjoy doing.

The pics look good, though there's not exactly a whole lot in them we hadn't seen before. We already knew what the outfit looks like after all.

It appears she will get the axe before the bow and arrow in this adventure and shes mucked in dust. My guess is she finds & prys the axe from something in the cave the 2013 game opens in or something similar.

EDIT: The only thing I'm not liking about the bio is her discontentment with college, every iteration of Lara she was well researched and educated. I like the fact she shunned the family business, it's a throwback to Core Lara which Roar mentions as he says they pulled bits from the entire Tomb Raider cannon.

Lara Croft is the fiercely independent daughter of an eccentric adventurer who vanished when she was scarcely a teen. Now a young woman of 21 without any real focus or purpose, Lara navigates the chaotic streets of trendy East London as a bike courier, barely making the rent, and takes college courses, rarely making it to class. Determined to forge her own path, she refuses to take the reins of her father’s global empire just as staunchly as she rejects the idea that he’s truly gone.

Advised to face the facts and move forward after seven years without him, even Lara can’t understand what drives her to finally solve the puzzle of his mysterious death.Going explicitly against his final wishes, she leaves everything she knows behind in search of her dad’s last-known destination: a fabled tomb on a mythical island that might be somewhere off the coast of Japan. But her mission will not be an easy one; just reaching the island will be extremely treacherous. Suddenly, the stakes couldn’t be higher for Lara, who—against the odds and armed with only her sharp mind, blind faith and inherently stubborn spirit—must learn to push herself beyond her limits as she journeys into the unknown. If she survives this perilous adventure, it could be the making of her, earning her the name tomb raider.
The pictures look amazing and I'm glad they made her less of a Mary Sue, TR game Lara seems to be perfect everything, I like the fact she can't be arsed to go class, much more believable.

^Where did you get that? It seems more in depth than the description in the articles so far posted.

I must admit, my feelings on this movie are a rollercoaster . Ups and down all over the place

Meh, so he was an adventurer... and the head of a global business empire... how much more cheesy of a character coule he be!? I bet he was a genius with an off-the-charts IQ, too. But not one of those nerdy, awkward ones with limited social skills, obviously.
