I don't really see how this kind of graphical limitation fits into a formula for innovative games.
It's not a graphical limitation, it's an art style. Maybe then you may see some of the innovation and fun in some of those games.

Would you force yourself to play a game where you despise it's artstyle because the gameplay is good?
I don't think I could, honestly.
I think Undertale and Minecraft might be good but I just can't look at them. Why would someone create those 8 bit monstruosities in late 2010's? WHY?
I hate retro styled games. They just come of as pretentious.

Sims 3 I'm looking at you for anyone that doesn't know about this glitch when saving the game it would be on an infinite screen with the green diamond, this glitch didn't happen every time just sometimes either way it was very annoying.

I eventually found a solution that didn't always work but improved the chances of the game saving successfully before saving the game stop each sim from doing whatever they were doing then save the game and hope for the best.
Thanks for this, I was thinking about hopping to The Sims 3 again lately, if I get to play it again I'll have this in mind.

Yeah I wouldn't either, I'm not sure if it's just me but sometimes certain games make me feel nauseous from the graphics after sometime of playing, even if I enjoy the game. It's even weirder because I don't care much about graphics in games.

The constant push for bigger open worlds devoid of any charm and copy paste aid/fetch quests and collectables to bulk out is really putting me off at the moment.

Exhibit A MGS5 Phantom Pain I was so efficient at going around collecting anything worth collecting that I could strip entire areas of anything of value in less than an hour be it plants, equipment or enemy personnel that had abilities that would come in handy at some point.

The boring part was waiting for everything I had collected to respawn, the only thing that MGS5 was devoid of in the massive areas between locations was any type of life, the only activity I ever encountered when travelling between locations was in no particular order a truck, a jeep, 2 maybe 3 soldiers walking around and a random animal.

There are better open world games that are more populated than MGS5 like Horizon Zero Dawn, Fallout 3 and 4, Minecraft, Skyrim and the Borderlands games.

Compared to the games mentioned above MGS5 Phantom Pain is a barren almost totally lifeless wasteland.

Exclamation

'But it was so pretty' is the common retort. Yes. Of course it was. Because it was the same textures over and over again. Previous games were also very nice to look at and were more varied. Being good graphically was nothing new for MGS.

MSGV is the perfect example. That game did not need to be as big as it was. The game would not have suffered for having all the locations much closer together but free roamable a la MGS3. Add into it the generally abysmal way in which missions and 'fast travelling' were organised it was well and truly a slog and was an enormous factor which destroyed the entire experience for me.

Oh that's understandable, I think it's worse when you have a big open world but nothing or barely anything to do aside from stuff like challenges (especially when most of those are very repetitive).

Camera being way too sensitive. I tried playing TRU on my PC and I was close to getting sick because the camera moves too fast. I couldn't continue.

Unnecessary and empty open worlds. Maybe its just my open world fatigue but I swear half these games would be better experiences if they didn't pad them with large empty spaces from point A to point B

Question

Escort missions but they're thankfully being phased out it seems.

Why does everyone hate quicktime events?
