You can simply jump out of that secret, on one side the ceiling is a bit higher.

As for the damage at the end of the jade secret in the Deck, it's avoidable

Walk to the corner
sidestep left until she stops turning
run off the ledge. this is important, If you roll off, she'll take damage.
voila
Dammit, I remember trying this FOREVER when I did a no scratch run years ago and I just gave up eventually. I can't believe it was that simple lmao

Just returned to this The Deck Jade Dragon Secret and tried every type of jump and jump position to get out of it with no damage. Couldn't find any jump solution.

The method ^ above is the only one that works for me and even then the positioning angle at the left side needs to be very precise. I found I needed a very slight readjustment anti-clockwise ie. towards the wall on the left so that when LC runs off the edge she doesn't pick up any damage.

The only place I've had more 'no scratch' success this time through is the Gold Dragon in the Living Quarters. Checking my earlier post here I said you take damage both getting too and from the shard lined pit. There's no solution to getting out undamaged but you can standing jump in from a position on the far side ie. facing towards the Gold Dragon end, diagonally across the pit and land undamaged.

I think you need to hold forwards whilst jumping to keep it slightly shallower to avoid hitting the overhang. There maybe a bit of right curve required too.

No doubt this is a known solution but I didn't know about it back then or since then so I was quite pleased to have worked it out myself.

Sorry to resurrect this topic but I've been slowly replaying TR2 no scratch over the past couple of days and got to that point in my first post about how to enter Bartoli's hideout without getting damage from the platform drop.

I had difficulty remembering the technique so referred back to YT video to remind myself. Well I messed it up (the timing of the roll) more than couple of times but literally just now I've done it but, I'm pretty sure, this time without the roll yet received no damage.

I'm trying again for solutions to avoid damage and I'm now stuck in The Living Quarters again on the gold statue (#2) secret.

As said before here, easy enough to collect the secret with no damage but getting out undamaged..................seems impossible.

There's no safe area that I've found so the moment LC jumps to grab the edge of the pit there's glass shard damage. Is there a solution?

BTW must be known thing in this level but I tried un-flooding the gas burner room after opening the locked door and the cut-screen showed the room without water and the door open. But when I went back there the actual room was still flooded.

I thought it might be a solution to avoid having to deal with the diver but apparently it is not allowed.

Continuing my no scratch/pistols only re-re-re-replay I've found new solutions (to me) in some some areas but there are still others like getting out of the gold secret glass shard pit with no damage that have defeated me.

I got really annoyed with snowmobile guy in the drawbridge area of the Tibetan Foothills - the AI cheats, doing things the player can't. He simply ignores LC's snowmobile and drives right through it if you park it to block his entrance.

He hits LC with gunfire from impossible positions too; I've done it pistols only where you basically have to chase the snowmobile and hope he doesn't turn. But this time I just emptied the Uzi into him.

Same problem with the last two snowmobile guys later on where, contrary to what somebody else here claimed, there is no safe position to shoot from. It varies but eventually, wherever you are, a burst of fire will eventually cause damage.

Quite pleased with my relatively trouble free run through Barkang although the vultures, as usual, were more annoying than the gunmen.

One thing, not related to the no scratch task, I noticed there is that in the later outdoor area where you go for what is usually the last prayer wheel in the locked small 'citadel' is that strangely elaborate rocky area just before the ladder that goes up to the area with the bamboo bridges.

Throughout that area you can hear splashing water and I was wondering if originally they intended that to be a waterfall or water feature of some sort.

Onto the Catacombs of the Talion now and just remembering there's more, apparently unavoidable, fall damage here when you have to get LC to drop down to the lower level of the previously waterfilled cistern/pool.

Safety drops and tumbles don't work and although you can land a jump on the higher area just inside the tunnel she gets more damage than a hand drop so its pointless.

Or when you on the brown platform, do a running jump to the red awning. Then a running jump for the sloped roof. Grab the edge, and drop to the green platform underneath. From there you can do a running jump to the main hideout. No damage

Laravision posted the tumble technique Bartoli hideout entrance YT video earlier in the thread. I did refer back to it at that point in the game.

The other solution you describe I'm pretty sure I tried that but I'll definitely go back there and try it again some time.

EDIT1

Just done that and..................no. Doesn't work unless there some technique I've misunderstood. When you hang drop to the green platform under the awning LC takes a small amount of damage. Its almost imperceptible but its definitely there.

Its very similar to the hang drop I mentioned in the Catacombs Of The Talion. Damage is minimal likewise but if you're doing no scratch and it can be avoided (which it apparently can't be there) you've failed.

EDIT2

I was mucking around in the Catacombs Of The Talion looking for useful corner bugs and found a great shortcut by using the entrance to the yeti 'prison' where you can corner bug right up to the snowy roof above, angle run leap/grab over to the exit area and exit. You can collect the gold #3 secret too and still exit OK but in taking the shortcut you miss the #2 secret*.

I'd known that snowy roof was accessible before once you were in the exit area but not that you could get to it in this way long before that.

Anyway I was really was pleased 'I had found' this shortcut but of course, with minimal Googling, I discovered, as I half-expected, it has been known here for years.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGSwILFbYVo

What I don't get in that video is what has happened to the four snow leopards which are triggered when LC enters that area.

* "I found" you can collect the other. #2 secret as part of the same 'glitch allowed' no scratch run avoiding any damage (except for that previous unavoidable sliver). It needs another corner bug use to get up to a bridge and you must collect it before #3 as once you're in the exit area you can't get back down without drop damage.

Revisiting the final area of Venice just to muck about a bit.

Surprisingly difficult to swim corner bug to the rooftops for some reason. Many are out of range (too high) but there are a few places like the lower, flat roofed building just on your right before the mined area guarding the level exit. I can occasionally get it to work there but even with tumble I can't get her to do anything but fall back down into the canal.

In one other place I can get up to one high rooftop by swim corner bug but LC gets stuck in position there.

The best place to dry feet corner bug is the jetty to the far right of the entrance to the second main area.

The gunman on the jetty is a real pain if you're trying no scratch which is why I'm posting that when mucking about there I've found a solution to that.

It is new to me although likely well known to some others here. Just where you enter the final area, LC will probably be in the boat, the water to the right/left of the entrance 'doorway' is actually shallow enough for LC to stand in.

That means she can draw here pistols and, if you provoke the gunman, conveniently he'll start running around at the end of the jetty. That is just in range of LC's pistols if you move her right to the edge of the shallow water area as shown in the first screenshot.

So good for no scratch and pistols only.
