That steelbook looks amazing. I usually only buy games digitally but I will break tradition to own that.

(I also thought the whole kaiju thing would overshadow core combat, but that doesn't seem to be the case, since it's been integrated so seamlessly into the gameplay loop, as opposed to being a finisher, or forcing the player through certain fights using this mechanic only) Part of me is worried about losing some of the original flavor, though, now that Wink Slave seems to be replacing Wicked Weaves, and Demon Masquerade is replacing Beast Within. I am glad Umbran Climax has been replaced, anyway, and that Witch Time seems to work the same way it did in the first game. The second game was excellent, even better than the first game I'd say in many aspects, but the fighting was worse off for its reliance on Witch Time, and UC to do any real damage with basic foes being able to block your attacks. |

Jennifer Hale huh? Solid choice I'm currently playing Metroid Prime and just found out the voice of Samus is Jennifer Hale. |

I'm sure Jennifer Hale will do just fine, but I am extremely disappointed Hellena Taylor isn't back as Bayo. No one can do it like her.

I'm still hoping that there'll be multiple Bayos, one voiced by Hellena.
Jennifer Hale is a great voice actor, but I'm hoping this is a PR smokescreen. Last edited by jackali; 04-10-22 at 22:21. |

The fact that they addressed it at all, when VO talent is typically kept under embargo until release - at least with Japanese titles - does seem like deliberate misdirection to me.
I mean, Grey DeLisle allegedly got in trouble for confirming that she was returning to play Jeanne. I'm not sure if this was after Jeanne appeared in the latest trailer, though, or before then. Has anyone been able to tell if train demon Bayo (in the Chinese finery) is also voiced by Hale? The voice at the very end of that trailer still sounds like Hellena to me, at least... What about the Japanese VO, is that all Atsuko Tanaka as well? Last edited by tomblover; 05-10-22 at 21:47. |

They haven't changed the Japanese VO, but that isn't necessarily an indication of anything. The English voice acting is the original artistic intention, and the Japanese version is just a dub.

I think the Bayo were playing isn't the "real" bayo. I'm sure Hellena Taylor is back in some form.

I've been saying that not convincing the player this is "our" Bayo and then pulling a massive twist with the real one appearing mid-game would be a missed opportunity on PG's part, but I don't wanna give myself too much hope at this point.
