I created a TR2 Updater adding "The Golden Mask" expansion to TR2 for Steam & GOG.com (It creates a folder called "gold" and installs the expansion inside of this folder) I could do the same with Tomb Raider III and "The Lost Artifact" if Square Enix gives the permission to distribute this expansion for free...

This sounds good.

I have the original disc, and all you have to do is replace the .dll files with the ones that TR Multipatcher uses, and apply a no-cd crack (thanks to Suikaze for showing me how to). You know, just like every Steam/Gog classic TR game did.

So, yes, I can do that.

This information is good and I'll take it to Square and see what we can do.

Regarding no-cd patches. Is there any other way? This will be a tough sell otherwise.

Doesn't the TR2 Gog patcher thing require you to own Tr2 GOG if I remember?

I like what I’m hearing and seeing. I really hope Square approves. That would be wonderful, especially considering I haven’t been able to play TLA on my newer laptop.

Not necessarily. All TR games 2-5 exe files on Steam and Gog are already no-cd patches, because you don't get a physical disc on these platforms. All the game files are in the game folder.

They even went as far as using PaulD's audio solution for TR2 without crediting him (!), so I don't think no-cd patches should be a problem.

The only exception is TR1, which uses a game disc image.

Maybe call it something else, like "patched binary" instead of no-cd or crack.

@tlr online: I'm glad you like it

@Sardoc: You're welcome You're right about TR2-TR5 for GOG & Steam; every one of them is the CD Version with a NO-CD and uncredited fan patches. TR1 uses a CD Image with DOSBox (A MS-DOS Emulator) Steam & GOG.com versions aren't optimized... TR2 installation is full of rubbish files in the "data" folder, and I'm not sure if TR3 Levels were updated (8 Levels have 2 versions)

@Samz: Yes, my updater requires that.

PS: I have the Original CD too

Have you talked to Square yet?, I'm a bit anxious.

Things like this take time, so I'd wait a month or 2. You shouldn't expect a definitive answer immediately, unless the decision makers for the series have already expressed an opinion on the matter.
