Tomb Raider has always featured blood, with the exception of Anniversary and Legend every other game features blood. It just didn't look as serious when Core's Lara got impaled in the 90s because 3D style gaming was just forming.
I didn't necessarily mind the extremely gory scenes in the Survivor games but I'd also rather they reserve them for death scenes. Like, you tried to make a jump, didn't jump far enough, now look what you've done, a spike went through Lara's head in the pit below. Something like that. They don't need to go all Mortal Kombat about it. What I don't wanna see is Lara falling on spikes for the sake of opening that damn wound for the 50th time, then having to cauterise said wound and so on. She's become the #TombRaiderTM now so no more of that. Yes, have her **** up every once in a while like getting caught and having to sneak around to get her guns back, the usual, but no more constantly stumbling and barely surviving every single place she visits. I wanna see her handling certain obstacles with more finesse and expertise. Last edited by LNSNHGTDS; 21-08-21 at 14:58. |

Same as the Last of Us.
Gruesome but not gratuitous. Impactful for the right reasons. |

I love the violent death scenes they give Lara in the Treboot era, but I don't need her to be shooting enemies and their heads or limbs exploding off (like in TLOU2). I wouldn't be opposed to her being decapitated in some deathly trap, but certainly nothing to the extent of her entrails being shown, or her eyeball popping out of her skull or spine ripped out of her torso (like Mortal Kombat).
But there simply must be blood when shooting/attacking enemies! Which I'm sure if they do it "realistically" enough, will warrant and M rating. I don't want blood mist from TRU or zero blood from TRL to ever come back. |

Should be like the reboot games. I don't want to go back to cartoony Lara bouncing off of spikes because of the T rating. The core games had brutal deaths for Lara, they should stay that way.
