My First modelised Lara Croft
Hello Guys !
As I am studying into video game art I had the chance to modelised my first Lara Croft vision for a big realistic character exercise ! I took a concept of FearEffect for the clothes There's a lot to improve due to my actual computer setup but here it is ! I plan to start a bigger project this summer, trying to put my own real vision of what should be now Lara in term of equipment etc. Improving the process and realism of my model. And I plan to reimagine the entrance of Pharos, Temple of Isis of TRIV and try to insert my model as playable in Unreal Engine ! I hope you to enjoy this project ! I put a lot of love in it Here's the link : https://www.artstation.com/artwork/BmAQXm And a preview : |

That looks really great !
Do you recommend some tutorials about making 3d characters. I'm trying to make a character model, but there are so many tutorials idk which one to follow. |

Thank's Mbog !
Saddly, i don't really have tutorials recommandation...I use to work in class with my teachers then all my questions go to them. But about hair and skin i know that i tryed followed these two : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ywhVkZBtq8 https://80.lv/articles/tutorial-gene...nzHt8iYTpTx8mQ Then after, you have to think about for why you do create a character. For my part it about video game, a game ready character. So about the process, you have : the sculpt(Zbrush), the retopology(Topogun or Maya/3dsmax/Blender/3Dcoat), the baking(I use Marmoset for that), the texturing (Substance Painter), the setup (skin/rig) (every software that allow that) and then incrementation in the engine (Unreal/Unity), that I yet didn't really tried. I'm still a student so i do learn a lot and have a looot to learn haha Last edited by Neilou; 28-05-20 at 12:13. |

It's absolutely amazing, well done Love her attire. I agree with the others that the face looks off.
I don't know why because she is not ugly. Maybe the facial feature don't work well together as a whole. |

Despite the face I really dig it! Well done!
Although, I have to say, denin might not be the best material for adventure pants. Still, I can see it as a new casual look for a older reboot Lara |

I think her eyes are just too small/wrong shape. Other than that, it's great!

I love the outfit and especially the gear ! The face, yeah... It doesn't really look like Lara to me (then again, there have been so many different versions of her, that it's difficult to say what Lara's face "should" look like) and the lips look kinda strange. I think they need more normal detail, more tiny wrinkles and stuff.
But yeah, like I said, other than the face I really like it ! This is the sort of outfit I was expecting reboot Lara to don for the second reboot game (back before Rise was announced). And the AoD-style hair! So good! |

Agree with others that the face is off. It gives me some uncanny valley vibes. I do like the outfit and the pose though.
