always hated the one in st. francis folly when you slide down the long slope. on ps1 you had to restart the whole level if you failed the timing

The very last one of the game... in the Great Pyramid... but only for PC players. Not because it's hard to get that secret, but because on most PC versions it does not register as a secret in your stats... so those of us with OCD-100%-completion-perfectionism will forever have sleepless nights.

In my opinion, these are the hardest secrets to find:
  • the first secret in Tomb of Qualopec
  • the only secret in Sanctuary of the Scion
  • the secret behind the block in The Cistern

If I had to pick the hardest secret, I would select the first secret in Tomb of Qualopec. There is nothing that indicates its location. You must climb in a place that you would normally skip even if you were looking for pickups. The Uzis in Sanctuary of the Scion are easy to find if you explore the level if you visit every corner and look around, you will see them. The same applies to the second secret in Tomb of Qualopec.

I think that the secret behind the block in The Cistern is easier to find than the first secret in Tomb of Qualopec: you can reach the block easily and you may just try to push it and discover that it is movable. In Tomb of Qualopec you must avoid the poisoned darts and position Lara carefully directly before climbing to the secret. This makes it harder to reach. Moreover, in The Cistern you explore the entire area that contains the secret whereas in Tomb of Qualopec you are in a corridor and you just go forward. It increases the probability you miss the secret.

I agree that secret is a bastard to get I hate the one time only secrets where if you mess up you've pretty much blown yourself out of the secters another one is in Aldwych in TR3 when the machine goes down your expected to know the exact side to land in to get the secrest but if you miss you have to reload the game and of course in all cases its worse on PS1.

It was either Cistern or Tomb of Tihocan, but there is one secret where you have to run on 3 tiles to open a door that blends into the wall. The room that you find the door uses the ugly green and blue color palette, and the floor is pretty much the same.

The double secret in Tomb of Qualopec can be tricky. Especially the one located in the spike pit. It doesn't look like you can drop down from above, but you have to be in the right position to fall and grab this secret.

There is a method to get the second secret in St. Francis' Folly with 100% certainty of success, without the necessity to do the timing You must slide down backwards and then grab the edge at the end. Afterwards, climb the slope and let Lara fall to the second, lower slope. When she is falling onto the lower slope, hold the Jump button and when she reaches the lower slope and jumps, she lands right in the entrance to the secret. This is the trick! Don't grab the edge of the lower slope and don't jump backwards then, it won't work.

I remember learning the faux grab trick to fall under a ledge and the second Tomb of Qualopec secret became so much easier for me.

Would have to agree that the double secret is in an incredibly missable spot, probably the most missable of any secret besides the Tomb of Tihocan pressure plates secret and The Cistern final secret.

About a month ago I played through TR1 as much as possible without using a guide, this was the very secret I missed (ignoring the last secret that doesn't even register, as .snake. mentioned). This was the mistake I made, I was so baffled as I had done it many years ago (using a guide) but just couldn't work it out, but I refused to use a walkthrough so gave it a miss I thought it was an issue with TombATI but it wasn't

Though as I was progressing I had to use a guide for a couple of secrets, like the one in I think it's The Cistern with the block you have to pull near the doors with all the locks? I completely forgot that one existed.

Thats quite an easy secret to get though I must admit that I used a guide to get it first time as I had no idea that there was a secret there.
