Globetrotting
Not linear, but not open world either. Self-contained levels that are branching and complex, and a bit of a puzzle
Trickier platforming. Shadow was a good start but I want to take it a step further.

More difficulty generally - more sudden traps (Shadow was again better than previous games)
More supernatural enemies
Less focus on cutscenes, more on gameplay. Don't care if the story suffers a little for it

Given how Sekiro, a difficult game with no DLC, no multiplayer, no microtransactions won game of the year I'm strongly confident that a difficult Tomb Raider game is not impossible to make. There is an audience for it.
