LOL I just realized how close Sonic 3D Blast graphics are to TRLE
Tbh i find Sonic Adventure's dreamcast version very close to what TRLE looks like, i once tried remaking the Lost World level.

This was a joy to watch! I always like the holiday themed levels, especially Croft Manor. I really love her outfit too.

I tried everything but the forest I was building not only was very bad, but it had some issues with gameplay (or at least, what I had in mind of gameplay... )
The problems I had with PRJs loading wrong, and all that problems listed above, gave me enough willpower to recreate the level from scratch. A lightning has stroke my mind and I had this idea of a 'canyon-like' area, near the forest. This is my first 'room' of the new project!
It is not textured yet, just geometry.
I still didn't start to level the floor up and down to simulate snow, just Rock walls(and floors).
The question then is... what do you think? On the bottom of the pit(where Lara walks), should I put regular Rock walls?(Just like in the upper rooms?) or I should keep the floor full of random placed rock-'walls'?
If that wasn't clear, I just have made more screens for comparision. Just noticed the bottom of the pit.
EMTPY FLOOR:

Irregular Floor-RockWalls:

Regular Rock Walls(just like upper rooms):

Thanks in advance

The bottom one for sure.

And it could even be made more irregular with different heights for the slopes and such.
Remember that wall sections don't always have to be 4 clicks high. You can make the 3 clicks, 5 clicks, 6 clicks even, slanted with only one click difference, and the textures will still look good because they are rock textures. It does not matter if they get distorted a little bit.
Sticking to block size slopes and no 1-clicks mounts or dents in the floor and rocks will still make things look blocky. So some small mounts on the floor and the floor sloping up to the rocks with 1 or 2-click slopes will make it all look much more natural. And using triangles ofcourse.

You should triangulate your squares more often and make more irregularities in the cliffs and the ground.

For rocks and cliffs, it is often better to force stretched and squished textures. They produce more irregular shapes and lighting.

Looking good!

Not really a fan of the distorted top border of the ruins though.

Haven't posted in a while.

A little something I have been working on.

Trying to get a eerie atmosphere going here.

As well as trying to avoid texture repetition if possible.
