Hello, how are you doin yall ?
I have an issue with TE... I would like to do a TR1 custom level, but when i want to test my level, the game crash at loading screen... Someone have an idea why ?

First in tomb editor

Level settings -> engine tr1,choose your tr1 folder,choose in data catalog level1,choose exe file,
sound settings -> tr1catalog.xml.

Additions: use tombATI + tomb1 main for stable work your levels.

^ TR1 now have a proper exe and TOMBATI is not needed anymore.

Personally, I did not check without tombATi, in that discussion thread they write that there are all sorts of glitches without tombAti.

I dont really get which folder you are talking about, i dont see any TR1 folder

I think i'll give up on the idea to do a TR1 custom level, i'm so noob

Once again I am writing about the search for items in the items tab
. Is it possible to give out an object by typing any letter of the alphabet?
Example: write "d" -door" etc. I mean, when you get a list of what is in the wad file! I've been waiting for this for a long time. ...
Well, it's more convenient than clicking on the magnifying glass icon!

Не тыркать в значек "лупы", а когда выпадает список всего в wad файле тыркать по клаве в нужные буквы.

In 2002 - unnormal ~128-256Mb
In 2021 - normal ~ 1,5-1,7GGGB!
Why? Developers?

What those options do? I see them in Tomb Editor and I wonder what they do and their uses.
  • Reverb
  • No lensflare
  • Force solid floor
  • Convert level to TombEngine
  • Bumpmaps
  • Disable geometry picking

Reverberation is a sound effect that delay the sound wave (imagine is a kind of echo) so it affect to the room where Lara is. In FLEP there are more patches related to this.

No Lensflare is to deactivate the global sun lens. If you remember TR4 and the coastal ruins, there is an effect of the sun and the light, it's in the script and it affect all the exterior rooms of the level. Activating the No lensflare will make the lens don't activate while Lara is in that room. (For example you want to make a wall that covers the sun, you put that No Lensflare button to avoid see the lens through the wall).

Convert Level To TombEngine is not working yet, Tomb Engine (TEN) is a new game engine the community is developing, that option will try to convert your level to make it functional in that new engine when it were ready.

Bumpmaps are extra textures that modify the way light affects on the textures, in modern games they use Normal maps. (Where red channel is horizontal axis, green channel vertical and blue is depht), but bumpmaps are only 1 channe for depht. (Remember you must have active the option in you TR config to can see their effects).

I don't remember that last one of the geometry picking O_ò
