Yeah I loved the demake and Jonah slapping Lara was awesome

I don't think Shadow's story was all that convoluted, I found it fairly straightforward. Poorly paced and pieced together? Sure.

Yeah it could be the pacing. I just was not able to pay attention to what any of the characters were saying. It was all beige paint to me that never stood out. I think the pink dolphin kind of generic random throwaway mcguffins just turned my brain off. It had great cinematic points, like the face to face with the leopard and then you think it's gone but it comes back angry next time. Moments like that were wonderful, but were completely undermined by reboot Lara's performance.

The plane crash was unremarkable, and it's been done so many times, why even do it without giving it a big twist? It's a retread over the same Lost/Legend territory with nothing unique or special added. It was actually cringe to watch with shadow Lara's new muppet face with no lips.

The villain seemed like the good guy to me. I think the story is supposed to make Lara the villain. Okay, cool concept, I like the experimentation, but it didn't make me care. Maybe they were trying to replicate the success of Maleficent or Cruella, but they didn't even make Lara have fun with it, because she's not allowed to have fun. So instead she has to make penance with paititi. So if you're not going to commit to your own concept why do it.

I want to learn so much more about this game, because it's so perplexing what they were going for in the first place. I think the WHY of the storytelling is in the story somewhere. That's why I'm replaying, but the handholding so far is so crazy limiting to the gameplay I might just watch the cinematics on youtube, but then I would miss pickups.

And Jonah slapping Lara was exactly what that scene needed. I'm like, finally something real happening between the two of them that makes you feel something. It was so satisfying lol. They try so hard to give them a dynamic in the game but it's like two alcoholics arguing and then just sobering up like nothing happened. They get so dramatic so fast for no reason and stakes are so low or unoriginal, or it doesn't matter what Jonah says because everyone knows raider gotta raid, so I'm just waiting for him to say his peace and leave Lara alone.

Unchained Dog comms. Does that mean TR goes to another studio now, or just that CD is off the leash?

The original video even surpassed Turning Point at views and became the 3rd most watch video of the channel.

Nixxes Software has announced a new update for Shadow of the Tomb Raider that adds Intel XeSS graphics support for DX12 compatible systems. Intel XeSS is an upscaling technology designed to increase performance and frame rate. NVIDIA DLSS, a similar technique, is also included in Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

"Xe Super Sampling takes your gaming experience to the next level with AI-enhanced upscaling, enabling more performance with high image fidelity. Revel in ultra-high-definition visuals with high-performance, powered by hardware acceleration and an AI-based algorithm."

Shadow of the Tomb Raider stars British adventurer Lara Croft who must master a series of deadly jungles, overcome terrifying tombs and persevere through her darkest hour. Developed by Eidos Montreal, in association with Crystal Dynamics, the Lara Croft-helmed adventure game cost 135 million dollars to produce (including promotion) and has sold more than 8.9+ million units to date.

I just love how this game is the center of people's eyes when there is some new technology announced (RTX, DLSS and now XeSS) or when people want to run tests and benchmarks on different new GPUs. Really appreciate how they're supporting the game even though I hate them for cancelling one of my most beloved DLC.

Including a performance benchmark in the game was a genius move.

To be fair, this is the best game in the series ever since Crystal Dynamics took over (apart from the pointless "Plot"). I'd say it's worth investing in.
