So I have talked briefly with the person who have worked on the reshoots as a storyboarder and...

The reason behind the reshoot was... they needed to make the scenes more clear and understandable for the audience

The scenes are

The flashback between 14 years old Lara and Richard.

The tomb of Himiko (when Lara try to understand what happened to Himiko)

The ending with Lu Ren.

Man, is that why we lost that amazing shot of Lara looking badass on top of the rubble for that "Lara still needs rescue from Lu at the end"? What a shame! :/

I'd also assume that Lara on her iconic white Volvo of definitely not product placement was also a sort of "reshoot" though

Look I hate the Volvo but it probably is what got us the sequel as that was huge cross promotion.

True.
And honestly, it's not the worse product placement I've seen. If we didn't know the same scene was first filmed with a bike, I doubt most of us would even notice it, or care.

It's not like the Fast and Furious movies with Vin Diesel saying stuff like "boy I sure like to drink this particular brand of beer, doesn't even compare to imported beers, it is that good!"

I just wish they never showed us the motorbike! Probably we wouldn't have even cared if we hadn't known...

But if it helped get us a sequel, it was a good sacrifice

Great!

I wish he had told you too about the character of Leo Ashizawa

He works in the movie:

And this was his back in the first picture we saw:

And in the making of we could see how Lara fight with him on the beach ...

Still bummed that we never got the deleted scenes as extras though :/

I hope they will leak one day.
