Question Editing the "Main.sfx" file

How can i edit the Main.sfx file ? ... replace files...
Extract files... and reuse them in tr3 .... i know its possible ... i just dont know how...

Edit : TR2 too

If you just want to extract sounds, there's also SoundJack.

You can edit them, but you need to edit the level files accordingly.

For TR2 and 3, you just need to edit main.sfx, unless you want to add extra sounds or change what sounds are played in which places.

Really? I thought the offsets of each sample were stored in the level files.

Thats the case of tr1-4-5

I dont know why they did that -_- one file is alot easier

It's easier, but more memory consuming
(Storing only needed files in memory vs store all files in memory )

Hi,
I thought about this thread and decided to make a little program to edit the sfx files more easily.
It was so small I wrote it in a day. The "Tomb Raider II/III SFX Editor" can be downloaded from
my website (under Tomb Raider > Tools) if anybody is still interested in editing the main.sfx file.
