I was wondering if someone could help me out with creating custom horizon’s. How is it done? |

Hello!
Not sure if you're new to creating/texturing objects, but this process is generally the same when it comes to retexturing objects. This is what the horizon looks like: As you can see, it's basically just a circle with a sky texture on it. All you need to do is replace them. (Also, note that the TR4 horizon isn't a full sphere.. If you wanted a top and bottom to your horizon you could either add it yourself, or start with a custom horizon.) 1. Open your WAD editor and make a blank WAD with your HORIZON object. 2. Open the newly made WAD in Strpix. 3. Load your textures. 4. Place them. You may need to split your sky texture depending on the poly count.. Hoping this was clear and helpful, if somethings not understood or worded the best, please let me know! Best of luck!! EDIT: Here's some tutorials that may be helpful aswell: Basic Texturing Strpix Download Last edited by turneraider; 29-06-21 at 05:16. |

Hello and thanks for the very usefull information you described here.
I'm currently a bit stuck at texturing the mesh, its devided in several parts and I cut up my textures in photoshop only I notice a lot of quality loss + its a bit trial & error to see how high the mountains or skyline need to be to fit the level/game. Do you have any sort of template, photoshop is ok with me but it will save me a lot of more time haha |

Actually, I'm really curious about this too. I don't know what the workflow is for creating entirely new textures to match existing mesh polygons. The tutorials I've seen usually rely on modifying existing textures, but it would be great to know if there's a tutorial about creating *new* textures and how to predict how they respond to polygons.

in photoshop, if you have a whole seamless horizon texture, you can use the slice tool, seperate the whole image as several slices, then if you go export> export to web (or something) and click save, it will save all the images seperately!
