TR1 - it does a good job of setting up all the main characters and their personalities. Add in the FMV when you start the game and its got some action going on too.
And the rest: TR2 and 3 do a kind of historical prologue without really showing much of the characters. Willard is in the TR3 one but you don't really the gist of who he is. TR4 - Doesn't really have an FMV does it? Unless you count the wall being broken, Von Croy jumping in and then Lara/Von Croy talking at the start of Angkor Wat. The FMV just before Egypt starts is more classic material. TR5 - Unique in that it focuses on Lara's death and is arguably the most story driven of the opening FMVs. You get to see Winston and a bit of Lara's Home interior which is cool. |

The introductory cafe cutscene in TR1 is probably my favorite.
TR3 had literally no good FMVs imo, except for maybe the Antarctica plane crash one. The asteroid one is also kinda neat I guess, but it doesn’t quite strike my fancy. |

I don't know if it counts as an "intro" but it's right at the start of the game. My favourite is in Chronicles, the sequence at the opera.
It's just so fancifully Lara and classic TR, hammy crazy fun. Also is that supposed to be Willard in the TR3 opening FMV? I swear the guy looked black, from memory. Not that you can't be Scottish and black, but in-game Willard wasn't. Last edited by Yeauxleaux; 17-06-19 at 20:42. |

TR5, I was confused when I was a kid and thought everything was happening real time so when the first level started I thought everyone was crying over Lara's "death" while we were being shown that she was in fact alive.
