The sound design got much better in The Last Revelation.

The roll effect in TR2 still cracks me up though.

Me too, it sounds like Lara is made of wood or something.

I always thought the duals in TR1 sounded like someone hitting their shoe against wooden planks lol.

My personal least fave is the sound of the duals in TR3/4. The guns have zero bass and sound like they were loaded with paper bullets. Glad they fixed it for Chronicles and not sure why they changed it from TR2. They even used the TR2 pistol sound effect for TR3's cutscenes

Part of me thinks they tried to alter the sound depending on what type of texture was below Lara, but then ran out of time and left the "wood" version in there. lol

Oh, and let's not forget the TR4 skeletons munching on some ice!

I love and am also terrified of the fact that the Cistern ambient track from TR1, which is used in TR2 and TR3 for any sewage/watery areas, has the sounds of squealing pigs in the background.

When I was a child I always thought it was rats since Cistern is filled with rats, as are most of the sewer areas where the track is normally used.

But listen again and you'll hear it's grunting and squealing pigs.

Nathan McCree was a sick man. A genius, but a sick man.

I don't know if it's just me, but something about that SFX always struck me as a man whistling, then flushing the toilet?

I'd always assumed it was some sort of bizarre gag by Core...

I'm fascinated by the progress of a TRL/A level editor. If it can be released in a user-friendly state it'd be so cool to see new levels take off.
