Default Tomb Raider 3 & TLA various patches (with & without healcrystals)

And here it is, follks! Sardy's ultimate Tomb Raider 3 and The Lost Artefact patch™.

-Peter Connelly for composing a great boss fight track and giving his permission to use it ingame,

-TRJTA for drawing water textures for Highland Fling Nessie's pool, so that I could animate them,

UPDATE 27/Feb/2016: Uploaded a new version, enjoy. It's been a long time since June 2015. It includes all the previous changes (1-33 for TR3 and 1-15 for TLA), as well as new stuff (34-36 for TR3 and 16 for TLA). Happy playing.




As usual, always working on some new stuff (though will probably slow down for the summer). Everything that's "not live yet" is the next big thing.





Changes and fixes:




Tomb Raider 3:


1. (OPTIONAL, THERE ARE 2 PACKAGES: 1 WITH CRYSTALS, 1 WITHOUT THEM) Removed every healing crystal from every level. Yeah, you heard me. Every. Single. Damn. Crystal. Try proper no-medipack runs now, dear PC players.


2. Imported Peter Connelly's unused boss fight track and enabled it ingame (Meteorite Cavern level) to make the fight more epic. And yes, I do have his permission. The original file is available here, on his official Soundcloud profile: Peter Connelly's official Soundcloud profile


3. Enabled RX-Tech Mines minecart track textures animations to match the experience of the Playstation version.


4. Fixed Lara's Nevada model (High Security Compound level + both Nevada cutscenes) and Antarctica model (all 4 Antarctica levels + all Antarctica cutscenes). She no longer has missing textures on/above her bum and no longer looks cut in half because of it.


5. Added the missing WAD for The Eye of Isis artefact to All Hallows level.


6. Added missing wall-mounted blade sound effects to All Hallows level.


7. Swapped the names of Ora Dagger and Element 115 artefacts with each other. They now have their correct names.


8. Resolved numerous instances of waterfall-flowing-upwards and water-flowing-against-the-current textures in Madubu Gorge.


9. Fixed 2 glitchy textures in Madubu Gorge.


10. Fixed the untextured wall in Temple of Puna, behind the 2nd boulder.


11. Fixed a waterfall-falling-upwards in Jungle.


12. Improved Lara's model: fixed missing nose textures.


13. Improved Lara's model: fixed the blue texture on her holstered right pistol in all India levels & cutscenes, and white texture in all Pacific levels & cutscenes.


14. Fixed a bug in Lara's Home which would make Lara grow a second head if flight hack is used. No more split personality, I'm afraid.


15. Fixed glitched textures behind a hut in Coastal Village and restored the original lighting.


16. Fixed a missing block in RX-Tech Mines.


17. Improved Lara's India and Pacific model, so that her legs no longer change colour when pistols are drawn.


18. Resolved numerous instances of water-flowing-against-the-current textures in Nevada Desert.


19. Changed an incorrect lava texture in Meteorite Cavern.


20. Improved the glitchy floor in Thames Wharf (glitching is NOT entirely fixed, but it looks a lot better from above).


21. Got rid of 2 sneaky little crystals stuck in the walls in Madubu and Lud's Gate.


22. Changed incorrect textures on Lara's left pistol when drawn (Antarctica model).


23. Improved Lara's London & Antarctica model thigh textures, so they no longer change when she draws her pistols/uzis/DEagle. Also changed the upper right thigh texture (Nevada model) and calf textures (London) for consistency.


24. Improved Lara's London/Nevada/Antarctica holstered uzis textures, so they no longer have magazine textures instead of grips. Also improved some diagonally placed triangular textures at the bottom of the holstered uzis and the top of the right holstered uzi. Finally, added flipped grip textures to India and Pacific models, and changed some grey textures at the bottom of both holstered uzis.


25. Fixed missing textures in Crash Site and glitchy textures in Lud's Gate & Nevada Desert.


26. Fixed a silly black texture under Lara's left holstered pistol (Nevada, London and Antarctica model).


27. Improved diagonal textures at the bottom of the pistol holsters (all models) and Antarctica top holsters as well.


28. Rotated a few window and wall textures in Thames Wharf. They will no longer look out of place.


29. Corrected misplaced textures on a few crates in the first 2 rooms of Area 51.


30. Rotated a diagonal texture on the side of Lara's right pistol holster (India, Pacific, Nevada and London model).


31. Changed a tiny pink texture on the Dagger of Xian (Lara's Home level, treasure room) to the correct gold one.


32. Changed some single-sided textures to double-sided ones in All Hallows level, so they are no longer invisible when looked at from below or a different side. Also added new faces, so that there are no missing walls behind grates and no chips in the exterior walls.


33. Fixed more waterfalls falling upwards and a few water textures flowing against the current in Coastal Village and Crash Site.


34. Improved the Infada artefact: converted some single-sided textures to double-sided ones so that there are no more invisible polygons inside the artefact (India, London, Pacific, Nevada, Antarctica).


35. Fixed a transparent texture on the mace held by one of The Damned in the cutscene after Aldwych.


36. Revised transparency data of every level (TR3 and TLA), so that some textures which were opaque before modding would no longer have transparent pixels or slightly changed shades. All cutscenes and all levels are fixed EXCEPT Lara's Home and All Hallows.


(Work in progress, NOT LIVE YET) Corrected misplaced textures on Lara's holstered pistols. Finished and uploaded levels: London levels & cutscenes. Still to finish, NOT LIVE YET: India, Pacific, Nevada (only fixed Nevada Desert, Compound & Area, but no cutscenes), Antarctica, Home.


(Work in progress, NOT LIVE YET) Further improved India and Pacific's colour-changing thighs.





Tomb Raider 3: The Lost Artefact expansion:


1. Improved Lara's model: fixed missing nose textures.


2. Improved Lara's model: fixed blue textures on her holstered right pistol in Highland Fling and Willard's Lair.


3. Replaced a rather ugly, black-wireframed gunflare texture in Lara's Home with the one used in all other TLA levels.


4. Fixed a bug in Lara's Home which would make Lara grow a second head if flight hack is used. And you thought only ROTR's Lara needed therapy!


5. Changed a static water texture for Nessie's pool in Highland Fling level into an animated one. Special thanks to TRJTA for drawing the textures, so that I could animate them.


6. Improved Lara's Highland Fling and Willard's Lair models, so that her legs no longer change colour when pistols are drawn.


7. Rotated a waterfall-falling-upwards texture in Shakespeare Cliff.


8. Changed some weirdly placed textures in Sleeping with the Fishes level (e.g. random metal wall textures on rocks).


9. Replaced some weirdly placed rock textures on the pavement in It's A Madhouse! town to correct ones.


10. Improved Lara's London model thigh textures, so they no longer change when she draws her pistols/uzis/DEagle. Also changed the upper right thigh texture (Nevada model) and calf textures (London) for consistency.


11. Improved Lara's London/Nevada holstered uzis textures, so they no longer have magazine textures instead of grips. Also improved some diagonally placed triangular textures at the bottom of the holstered uzis and the top of the right holstered uzi. Finally, added flipped grip textures to India model, and changed some grey textures at the bottom of both holstered uzis.

Known issues:


1. Healing crystals may still be present if an old savegame or Stella's Site savegame is used. This is because the crystal positions are stored in the savegame file, so you'll see the changes in the next level. For best experience, please start an entirely new game, so that there are no crystals anywhere on the map. However, if you don't want to start an entirely new game, you don't have to: you can download a savegame from the very end of a previous level, end it and then the next one will start without crystals.




Other patches and mods

You've probably noticed there are mods and patches for other TR games in that folder. Feel welcome to choose whatever you like. We've got:
- TR1 and Unfinished Business braid mod (includes the music mod for TRUB),
- Unfinished Business music mod,
- a minor fix for Nightmare in Vegas level for TR2 Golden Mask (Ultimate Edition players might appreciate this),
- a minor fix for TR4 The Times Exclusive level (fixed Lara shooting her bum out of the crossbow and restored her angry, teeth-gritting animation when shooting),
- patch for TR4 (fixed the torch model in Giza levels and added the latest versions of other levels, which were released about 2 weeks after the game's official release).

Woohoo! Proper names for the Ora Dagger and Element 115! No more weird-looking health crystals disrupting the scenery! Amazing boss fight track! Woo, woo, woo!

Ok, fixed this one. Just uploaded dem single level file for those of you who don't want to redownload the entire thing (reuploading the whole thing now as well).
