Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

Opinion: All the criticism thrown at this game by die hard COD fanboys in totally unwarranted. If anything, this game managed to merge classic CoD gameplay with everything amazing the new Gen CoD games had to offer.

Story: VERY immersive and wonderfully scripted albeit issues concerning characterization of the antagonists. The setting could very well be described as a darker and grittier version of Battlestar Galatica; Only instead of Cylons, Earth is under attack by Space Colonials lead by an evil Future Jon Snow from an alternative timeline who probably grew up reading one too many books by Nietzsche and Machiavelli.

The characters from the Earth SATO forces side of the story are very well written. However, the characters from the Settlement Defence Front side seem so wooden and cliche; Which sucks, considering that the game pretty much wasted the potential of having Kit Harrington play the part of the ruthless Admiral Salen Kotch.

Gameplay: Enjoyable and immersive. The campaign mode doesn't just provides you with action on the ground but also straps you in the cockpit for some space based dogfights. And for those who think that FPS based shooter game play is just too easy; I recommend playing this game in specialist mode. I am pretty sure you will be crying for your mother to change your undies after you experience it .

No more auto regeneration mode. Wanna heal yourself? You need medkits. Get shot in the leg? You will be limping throughout the game. In a Zero G space environment and you get a hole in your helmet? You will be leaking Oxygen and will have to get a new to get shelter inside a battleship or a space station fast or else you will suffocate to death.

On the Multiplayer side of things; Most guns have secondary fire modes and mods which (if used correctly) can completely shift the tide of a multiplayer match. SMGs can turn into shotguns for more up close and personal engagements. Sniper Rifles can turn into fast firing Assault Rifles which can save you in a bind if you miss a shot and the opponent is too close for comfort.

The possibilities are endless.

Mechanics: Given that the game is made by Infinity Ward, its no surprise that the Graphics are top-notch. From Space Battles just outside the Asteroid Belt to the Cold unforgiving Environment of Europa; The immersion factor is though the scale. The controls are easy to grasp and thus far, I haven't encountered many bugs in the game.

All in all, I liked the game and can't understand why the die hard CoD fan boys shunned this game so badly. So its not another WW2 themed CoD. Big freakin whop!

About to get to NG+. Same as with DS3, I have a character that was pretty much ready to go to NG+. The difference is that this one has all of the DLC complete...I even fought those dreadful mutant Sharks to get Lady M's blade.
It's a drug, innit?

I haven't completed it yet but I'm already looking forward to starting my second playthrough. Bloodborne is having the same effect on me that DS1 had all those years ago, and I'm overjoyed for it.

It sure is! I think it's one of the most wonderful exclusives the PS4 has (if not, THE most).

Bloodborne, unlike DS2 and DS3, managed to deliver an interconnected world full of secrets almost as masterfully as DS1. Almost every place has its own identity and it's hellishly dynamic to traverse through. Enemies are a treat too (search videos with enemies' close-ups...you can't appreciate such detail in the middle of a fight, but it's certainly there), and so are the many (unique) weapons at your disposal. The game has love and it's undeniable.

Prey 2017

Seriously, this game needs to win at least a few awards before the end of the year.

On my first playthrough I was apprehensive to dive into the Typhon Neuromods, and with that character I stuck mostly to human abilities. With this character I'm going all in, and it's a blast. Definitely a very different playstyle so far.

I've barely gotten to Deep Storage after 22 hours and haven't used any alien upgrades. Hope to do it full blown next time, though! I will be sad when the turrets turn on me, though

I've also been playing Fallout 4. There's this foliage mod that makes it even more colorful and it's so beautiful, but I think there's too much grass and trees everywhere. Should be areas that are dead and withered looking, bud maybe I'm just not finding those places.

It doesn't take much. I installed three alien neuromods and upgraded one twice and then the turrets turned on me. So fyi, if you're gonna be a straight shooter go with as few as possible.

But playing with them is glorious. You can get the ability of the Ether Typhoon and zip around like you're playing Dishonoured. I also have the Telekinesis ability from BioShock and who needs heavy lifting abilities when I have a kinetic blast?

I also just killed the Nightmare and I'm around where you are now, so I'm glad I don't have to worry about that jerk for the next 15 hours.

Y'all are gonna make me buy Prey for PS4 as well, I never even got to finish my 2nd playthrough on PC before abandoning it. :C

In other news...

Bloodborne

So I gave a few more tries to tame the Chalice Rom and lost over a 100k BE in the process, which naturally made me jump ship and start up the DLC instead. The DLC is very lovely so far and I would've kept playing through it, but then Ludwig was like:

To be fair, I kept summoning Henriett to assist me, but the dumbass could never resist the executioner's charms (must be the facial tentacles, I mean they must give french kissing a whole new meaning ), which would often get him killed early, get both of us killed early, and if we did make it through that alive, more often than not he would follow up that genius moment with getting stuck in a geometry and not actually coming through the fog with me. I burned through my insight in there faster than my calories through an intense cardio session.

What's shocking, however, is I always made it much farther with Ludwig solo than with Henriett in the mix. Dunno if I just tried harder, or au contraire didn't try that hard which ironically made me better, but either way even after ten visits Ludwig would still surprise me with new attacks. What a charmer. ^_^

So yeah, I figured I might as well go and do Nightmare of Mensis, or a portion of it at least. Am I the only one who genuinely enjoyed the Micolash battle? People are hating on the poor thing everywhere I look! I mean yeah it was pretty gay, but I loved the design of the arena, the OST was some of the neatest I've heard in the game, and the atmosphere was through the roof! (meanwhile, someone like Logarius, along with his little castle, I find dreadfully overhyped, didn't really care much for the fight, and the location I thought was okay at best - didn't really hold a candle to the Unseen Village or even the Upper Cathedral Ward in terms of atmosphere and its individual design pieces). I also found the blood rock shortly thereafter, which automatically added about a thousand heart points to the place. Upgraded my beloved Hunter Axe to +10, the thing is doing some ridiculous damage now with the right gems. I was then able to bring Ludwig to his second stage within a minute! And then his second stage just raped me all over again, I mean it is becoming a dysfunctional relationship at this point.

So yeah, at the moment it's just me and Ludwig, there's really not much else I can go and do now, other than continue the main campaign which is nearly finished, though. I suppose I could always go back to the Chalice Dungeon, but by the Great Ones, why would I? D:

^ Ludwig <3

I told you the DLC would make you feel weak again. Ludwig is a great welcome to the party. And the hardest boss you've found (so far)
The second part of the fight is easier than the first one. At least he's less of a horse.

Oh he certainly is! It's refreshing to finally fight something I don't best within two or three attempts again. <3

And strangely enough I really do find his first stage easier. Probably because I've seen it so many times now, compared to the second one. :'D The only thing which still does my head in is that charge attack of is, 9/10 I mistime dodging and die instantly.

I think I can't dodge it properly either. But I find his fall from the ceiling worse as a whole...the blood dripping, how deadly it is and the tension it causes altogether. You are far warned of what he will do, so you're all that time expecting him. It builds adrenaline like nothing else in the game. Oh, Ludwig.

You'll see that the second stage isn't that hard. If the fight was the other way around with the horse on steroids for the 2nd half, people would have far more trouble.

EDIT: I beat Vicar Amelia last night on NG+. So I might join you in the DLC. Ludwig, here I come!
